headlight switch wired with ignition

Hi, so my fd recently broke down and wouldn't get power to the ECU so the car won't start, previous owner decided to wire the ignition to the low beam switch (don't know why would you do that) and I found that the low beam doesn't come on when I switch it, but the high beam does work... I didn't look at any diagram or anything I just did a resistance check on the red wire that is coming out of the switch and the black wire which I'm assuming it's the ground and found that I got a reading of O.L when I switch on the low beam and I got close to 0 ohms when I switch on high beam.
I also check the green wire that is coming out of the switch and found that I have close to 0 ohms when I switch on low beam and 0 ohms when I switch on high beam. So I don't know what's going on...
I'm tempted to just replace the whole unit, or can you replace the switch by itself?
No one seems to have experience with this kind of problem so I'm thankful for anyone with experience close to this kind of problem.
also, the car has an Apexi Power FC, I did think it was the ECU that was causing NO START problem but I switch it to the stock ECU... still no start.
so I'm just hoping it's the switch, because i don't want to do any wiring (because i have no experience on that)

I don't see how the headlight switch would keep the car from starting. You're chasing 2 different issues here. Focus on the important one first.

it's weird because I would need to switch on the low beam to get power to the ECU and stuff, key on the on position wouldn't get power to the ECU without the headlight switch to low beam Every person that I told them about this said the same thing they are different types of issues. I just don't know what the previous owner did and how he wired it, thought someone would have done the same thing and guided me to what they did so I can maybe look at the wiring if there is a rub through wire or test for an open wire.

Ahhhhhh i seeeeee what you mean now. That is wild. When you describe it like that there's a good chance this was intentional. Maybe some kind of anti theft thing or something. So this would be pretty easy to fix. You would simply take the power wire at the plug at the ecu and run it to a normal switched power source. You can trace it back with the diagram and cut it as close to the source or even maybe find where exactly its tapped into.

To save the most time though, go to the ecu and cut the switched power wire at the harness. On the end of the wire sticking out the plug in the ecu, attach a wire and run it to the fuse box on a switched power source. Done and done.... you can leave the headlight switch alone since its working how its supposed to. Even if its not doing it the way its supposed to

ohhh I will try this, so just wire the ignition from the ecu to the key ignition?

Yes. At the fuse box though. There are some open terminals above the fuses.

so I just wired the ignition power black/red wire from the ECU to the switching power on the fuse box, and I am still not getting anything... did a voltage drop on the black/red wire and the ground black wire on the plug and I got 12v when I switch it on... so that means I'm getting power to the ECU... I'm starting to think it's my ECU... (i'm broke)
