So wanting to go keyless on the racecar and was wondering if anyone had the wire info on the ignition switch (namley which wire is what) so I could save an hour of playing with wires trying to figure it out

Why not just go straight to the battery? Keyless needs power all the time.

Maybe its being lost in the internet but keyless = same as an ignition switch just without needing a key (either 1 constant on switch and a momentary switch or 1 switch with constant on and momentary abilities)

When my ignition lock got so worn the key would fall out just driving around, that got embarrassing on track days so I wired in an ignition switch and starter button.

Go to the link in the second post for a wiring diagram. I made a plug'n play switch and button with some connectors I took off a scrap yard 7. Taking off the steering column cover is all that's needed to get to them.

There are two 2 prong connectors that are used with the ignition switch. One connector's wires have a White/Red stripe and Black/Yellow stripe, the other is a Blue and Black/White stripe. (The Mazda manual has the striped black wires reversed.) These connectors are in section X, labeled X-08 in my 1982 book.

On my toggle switch, the White/Red stripe (power) wire went to the ON part of the switch, and the other three went to the other side.

For the starter button, another White/Red wire goes to one side. The other side goes to a 1 prong connector that has, according to the book, a Black/Yellow stripe wire. Mine has a Black/Red stripe, but I don't remember if I grabbed it from something else.

So if you have a spare RX harness lying around to cut up, that'll make an easy plug-in conversion. Just don't forget about the steering lock!

I used the hole for the choke **** for the starter button and made a hole in one of the switch covers (mine's a base model) for the toggle switch.

Ahh, thought you were talking about the doors...didn't make sense being a race car but whatever. The FSM on foxed.ca will have the wiring diagram you need.
