dimmer switch bypass

The reason for this post is i think i cooked a resistor in my dimmer switch when i wired up the white gauges. I should have read the directions first. anyway, now my low beams don't work at all, my high beams work only occasionally when switched on, but i can flash them every time.

I never use the switch anyway- i just leave it set at its brightest. So my question is can i bypass the switch to regain low beams and consistant high beams? The dimmer switch (or "panel light control" per the manual) has a three wire connection. One ground, one 12v batt, and one +/-v for variable brightness. I'm not much for electrical, but couldn't i just direct connect some two or all three of these together to bypass the switch?

I dont know if this helps, but I just removed mine altogether after a friend blew some unknown fuse under the dash. My lights still work.

The dimmer switch has nothing to due with the headlamp operation.
Either both low beams are blown out or the combo switch needs to be cleaned.
