I'd love a gen1 viper, heard they're going out of style fast.

 

I'd love a Gen 2 GTS or a Gen 5 ultimately. I am running out of space in the garage and will have to start making some tough decisions... or add another 3 car detached now that lumber prices are plummeting.

 

I am watching carefully BaT and other sites to see if prices are dropping and I see some signs of that everywhere. People have lost money in the stock market and I see a lot of crypto-crying lately. (Since crypto usually has no underlying assets, what did they expect?)

 

I remember when I bought my cars in 2020 and 2021 respectively. I was over the moon with excitement

Efini center caps have dropped rom C$180 range (for four) to C$100 range. This, in my opinion, is a key leading indicator.

As foreboding as the center caps cost curves downturn may be, the recent plunge in OEM battery cover pricing is the Fifth Horsemen of the (Pricing) Apocalypse.

This is (another) aside, but if i see an FD with the hood open, the battery cover is the first thing i look for. not only are they broken/missing a lot, but its available new and inexpensive. its the Windsor Tie knot of the FD world, imo

Is the window switch OEM? I know they have knock off for 30bux all the time.

Number of clean roller might be very limited, but I think there should be some ok shape running car and roller for more reasonable price.

My time frames are messed up but OEM were selling around $350 and knock-offs starting showing up at $65 (I bought three). Seems like just in the last year or so they dropped to the $30 range.

I now see asking prices of (purported) OEM at the $160 range.

The knock-off 99 spec combination front turn signals are regularly posted at about $85 recently, down from closer to $200.

I'm not hating on the Integra, only making a point that they're not the supreme, untouchable FWD car from that era. Like I mentioned the MSP was loaded with amenities, while the ITR had no stereo, no sound deadening, roll up windows, etc.
Kind of a cool little factoid if you asked me. Mazda has been criminally underrated for years.

 

So, my totally unscientific look at BaT auctions is showing a lot of reserve not met. Maybe half the cars in my watch list were RNM over the past week or so. It was never like that. Only a very few cars didn't trade. Many times the owner of those was unrealistic. That's not what's happening here. The bidders just aren't being aggressive at all.

 

I'll be shocked to see that again. At this point I'd still be comfortable paying $20k for an extra nice slick top roller, the all over paint job on my current FD is running nearly $10kUSD right now.
