Nice to see you are still kicking around, Jim! Still have an RX-7 or did you get into something else?
I sold my RX-7 about 10 years ago, and it's still not running. Lol
Poor FD. May 18th was 23 years since it last ran under it's own power.
My Trackhawk. Was ~940 horsepower (771 WHP) on 92 octane (0-60 in 2.6, 0-100 in 5.8), going to be more than that at the wheels with the new ported blower and triple pump fuel system on E85.
My S6. Getting RS7 turbos and downpipes early next month, should be around 800 horsepower with a DS1 Stage 4 tune on E85.
Jim... Last I remember you were building a chevy small block and I thought you were buying a Porsche? Or, is old age playing tricks on my memory.
Half right... I built the engine below and then was in the process of switching over to an LS7 when I lost interest in the RX-7 and decided to sell it. My Z06 Corvette helped make that decision easy.
FrankenLT1... 396 CID with LSx firing order, custom AFR 215cc heads, Crower billet bottom end, Hogan's sheet metal intake. Made 774 horsepower naturally aspirated on B&B's engine dyno on pump gas.
I don't understand the point (and to avoid confusion I'm not being sarcastic). There hasn't been much special about most of the BaT cars other than being stock and low mileage. Is it the color or base vs touring you are referring to?
I'd much prefer this one over the last 2 red ones.

I like red and black about the same, but 94 over 93 is a big deal to most, base vs touring is a big deal to some, I think the canada import/duty is around 3 percent? All in around 50k plus shipping so not exactly cheap for Canadian car in kilometers etc... Hopefully the dealer does well but this wasn't a layup or a great buy IMO.
However like you I might take it over the 94 VR base at 67500 because 17500 goes a long way
Yes. I think so. Most of the Canadian cars seem to sell for a slight discount to US cars.

Maybe I'm missing something. I said there was nothing special about the car other than reasonably low miles. You said there have not been many special cars on BaT. Sounds like we are on the same page?
I guess my point is that discounted Canadian cars that are nothing special are able to sell for $46,250 in today's crazy market.
My my how the FD market has changed.
This time last year no one would pay $35K for my 94 MB one owner "all original" 60K mile near perfect inside & out.(pics)
And now most agree that this just posted 93 is a real deal: https://www.rx7club.com/market/1153094
Yeah. That is a good deal. Thank goodness they repainted is correctly, I can't stand a white care with a red engine bay haha.
Yes they did paint the engine bay but from what the seller said it is going to need more paint.
"Was originally VR but has been repainted including door jambs and engine bay as CW. The paintwork isn't great, there are a couple areas where the white is a different shade of white and a couple chips around the car. Has a small ding in passenger door"
That car probably would be worth $10k today . I think it was an automatic FYI. They got a princely sum of $3500!

There is a complete list of all the cars lost to Cash for Clunkers floating around out there, and it's really sad. That program was a woodchipper for classic Mercedes. Cars that Mercedes designed to last for 100 years, crushed and cubed up to make appliances.
Anyone here buy the red R1 that just sold on eBay? I was supposed to win it but got a bid error at the last minute. I spoke with owner and car seemed like a very nice example, bone stock, owned since 1994, no accidents, super clean interior, etc.:

That red one that just sold on eBay looked great. Like you guys, I’m surprised it did not sell for higher. For us who don’t plan on selling anytime soon, it’s fascinating to see the price range for clean FDs.
A little birdie told me that an olddddd school member of the community bought that Ebay listed VR R1 and is now Back in the Game. I'm talking Big List Old School
