How to value your FD
I have been considering selling my 94 46k mile Montego Blue ever since she decided to blow white smoke on me. I was deciding if I should repair and sell or sell as is. While I kicked the tires of that choice, I feel I may have landed back to the decision to keep her for a bit longer. This is my first time going thru the process of a major engine repair. I was wondering since this thread is on the topic of value... is there anything I should be concerned about from a value/collectability standpoint when I get this repair done? I hope this is not off topic too much.
Great buy and best of luck with it. Rob's car is a much better value than the base that sold on BAT and it has some nice upgrades. Someone really wanted that CW Base.

If you buy an S2k, FD, GT3 etc..... you'll likely do much better than buying a new car but you give up all the other conveniences a newer car has to offer. I honestly don't like the vibe of newer sports cars so the warranties etc... don't really appeal to me and I still love driving my FD. Family car though and it's a whole different ball a wax and it's costing me a lot of money. However you don't see a U-haul following a hearse

Rob's car sold for 45k in 2 days. VERY NICE CAR with some nice mods.
Right now it's a big time sellers market because of decade plus long environment of propping up the economy with horrible government intervention. The bubble will one day pop but it's clearly a MASSIVE world bubble so it will likely take a lot more breath before it pops. Anyone buying an FD today for 45k can probably sell for 50k in the spring.
Found a dreamer right here; $79,985 plus tax!
It annoys me because people usually hate on cars with body kits, so if you are asking top dollar (like I would for mine), I expect everything to be in show quality condition...
Check the engine bay, this seller was too lazy to even wipe the grime off the easy to reach spots. Looks like they just rolled it off the boat and doubled the asking price
I find this frustrating as it just perpetuates the idea that modded cars are junk.

90k.............hmmm?
Don't think we've hit that mark yet but nice to know someone thinks it's possible.

Agreed, nothing I hate more than lazy-*** sellers. Elbow grease and an afternoon of your time seems so simple, yet so many neglect to do it. If you can see it in your pics, so can everyone else. There’s a difference between “patina” and grime.

^Interesting car. Wonder if it actually has dual oil coolers. Has sunroof on it. I'm wondering if they did the parts swap around at the time of purchase or back in the day or what. Basically it's a non-Bose sunroof car with the R1 seats, spoilers, and strut bar. Also has cruise and the tape/CD player.
For that money they should have the battery lid!
Also they put the WORST exhaust on it. I'd be surprised if the rear valence didn't have melted sections on it.

dale why do you say the apexi n1 dual is the worst exhaust? Is it because you don't like the way it looks, the design or the sound? (i know it's loud lol) and i noticed a couple other member have also said the exhaust tips tend to melt the plastic rear valence strip. However from all the fds with n1 dual that i've seen the fitment is quite good including this black one featured on autotrader. Am i missing something?
Haha of course, given the inherent design and intent of the piece. I actually have one virtually BNIB. I test fitted it once several years ago. At idle it did sound very loud w/ my full exhaust almost like a raw V8
But a few tuners claim this is the one to run if you want to extract max power? I wonder if I put in the optional silencers in the tip and resonator in the midpipe that would quiet it down enough.

2. It fits terrible. It will rub the black plastic under the bumper and melt it.
3. Apex'i is a good company and should have known better.

1. It sounds terrible. I've owned about 30 cat-backs and have had personal experience with tons of them. The N1 Dual sounds like total ***, worst sounding FD exhaust out there hands down.

I thought about selling mine but that was short lived. I'm interested what people here think it's worth. It's a 95 17350 miles PEP/PEG with R2 front spoiler and R2 strut tower brace and fog lights. Almost perfect compression numbers in the 120s. two tiny rock chip that are hard to find. Otherwise perfect inside and out. Looks stock with basic mods and reliability mods. With a PFC tuned to 295 on a Mustang dyno not that adds any value. Chris at Banzai did 95% of the work. All systems run perfect even the stock CD player. It is very near concours perfect besides the mods. It's Vintage Red. I have had or did myself all the maintenance like it should be. It is a 10 out of 10 or really close to it. It's been garaged it's whole life. It's garage queen of sorts that gets driven and kept up.

I would list it for $55k and wouldn't take any less than $50k. '95 MY's hold a bit more value IMO coupled with those low miles, maintenance, and solid compression make it a bit of a unicorn these days. Hold it until spring though if you do decide to list for top dollar.
