and the simple answer is no you do not have to do a full swap if you keep the NA tranny and flywheel

correct em if im wrong, but you can use the n/a tranny but you need the t2 lsd, if so would the n/a rearend work or will it simply break??

There are plenty of people making lots of power on an N/A rear end without issues.

Aaron Cake for one still has the open N/A diff in his turbo beast, IIRC.

I've been trying to do the swap for the longest time. Here's what I've learned.

a) it's recommended to not keep the NA Tranny/Rear End, but you can.

*From what I've read, the tranny will probably give out*
-Especially if you want a little more power than stock.
-Don't get me wrong, there're ppl on the forum who has done this setup and it works for them. But do you really think your 16+ years old Beaten Up Tranny will hold?

b) if you really want to keep the NA Rear End, there's a Tii to NA driveshaft in Mazdatrix.com
-I'm actually doing that right now, but I'm getting a new LSD cuz I think if I get a used na LSD, it'll die.

Hope this helps bro.

well i was tight on cash, started out by buying all the t2 parts starting from the back end

rear half shafts
rear diff
drive shaft
tranny
then the engine

along the way remember to buy the little things

cutting the flywheel
rear main seals for the tranny and engine (about 24 bucks together from mazda)
pressure plate
clutch
throw out bearing
pilot bearing and seal (comes together)
fuel pump
boost gauge
throttle cable
tranny oil
engine oil
larger amp main fuse
fuel fiter
ecu and harness which most likely come with the engine,
coolant
and your gaskits which are about 6$ a piece

those should be the little things but other then that its not much and easy, just save up make a list and before you know it it can be a weekend job FTW! i did it
