Some pics of my NA Turbo setup

nothing really changed except his fuel pump has been making some weird noises the past couple of days... we're thinking it may not be up to par. his afr's were always low 11's under boost from what i can remember. like he said, we may have another motor in there tomorrow night

I'm not sure what the afrs were, my plx m300 died a couple of days ago, but before it died there were between 10.5 and 11 under boost.
I was cruising down the highway on the way to work and was going slow behind traffic and at my exit no one was in front of me so i got on it so not to be late to work, i was in 4th gear giving about 2/3rds throttle htting about 14 psi and at about 5k rpms it felt like fuel cut and i heared it detonate and then it was all over. Out side temps were not even warm, it was really cool, oil pressue was good and collant temps were low.
The settings for everthign are the same setting s that i have had on the car for about the past month except for retarding the timing back to almost stock, it was about 7 degrees advance at idle compared to the stock 5 dgrees, i was before runing about 15 degrees advance, i correct the fuel after changing the timing.
I still not sure as to what caused it but i'm leaning towards that fuel pump. I wish i had the wideband in when it happened then I would have probally either none what happened or not blown the motor. And yes I used to before not even hear the fuel pump and the last 2 days i hear it screaming, but the fuel pressure was fine, maybe its not keeping up with the motor.

Yikes, it's hard to tell if it can keep up, but also remember with low temps/4th gear you're going to be creeping and moving a lot more air than most other times.
well ever time i have tuned the settings were in cooler temps usually at night time in 4th gear, i've never had any problems before until the fuel pump started whining, also this was the first time i boosted that much since monday, the fuel pump started whining tues morning, i also put gas i believe in my car monday night.
lol, i just talked to him... he's on a two hour drive home with his new motor. lol he'll be up and boosting again by tomorrow afternoon. WOOT! we have a big rotary meet to attend.
staticguitar: the car is impressive... it will definately catch you off guard

Yeah got motor, its a s4 na motor, little lower compression than the s5 na i had, this will mainly be a temporary motor till i can get my hands on another s5 na motor and the build the hell out of it.

The FD DID NOT COME WITH 9.4 ROTORS. It had 9.0:1 rotors.
Also, static, WTF are you talking about 'coming from you', yer a n00b, wtf would you know!

my dream motor to build would basically be a bridge ported s5 na motor with rx-8 rotors, super high compression
Ok back to putting in motor, should be firing it up in the next couple of hours

Yes, Greddy has a kit as do various other places, though with their exhaust ports on the irons, they're not quite as good as us with peripheral port exhaust.
Yeah the only 9.4:1 ratio rotors was the GSL-SE 13b rotors.
10:1 RX8 rotors would be great on a P-port.
A P-port would love that extra compression, it would eliminate that little bit of low power band on the lower RPM's.
But alas the Rx8 rotors are not so compatible with the previous motors.
Greddy does have a turbo kit for the RX8 but I have driven on the 1st two versions of it and they were nothing to brag about.
They feel very powerful and are....So long as you don't go full throttle, when you do the motor bogs and falls on its face before it comes back up.
Very odd but apparently it is very common with the first versions of the Greddy kit.
It was something to do with the ECU tuning.
Go figure.
I am still waiting for the Mazdaspeed RX8. That with a full Tein suspension will be all I need.
Oh yeah.....
