I think we should start using that as a rule of thumb, instead of always doing something more! (Look at mine for gods sake, I'm amazed it still turns over!)

(sorry for the thread hijack)
Basically with my car it's like, first it was running, then I upgraded the intercooler again, and then I got the larger turbo, and then I got the microtech, and then I got body panels to paint it, then I got the fenderskirts and a new bumper, and it's just always something keeping me away from the dyno and track and in the garage.

(sorry for the hijack too)ok..i see. i'm in the same perdictament though i'm procrastinating more than you are. at least you got the engine performance upgraded as i, i got the parts (minus fuel pump and injectors) but havent done nothing yet. right now i'm trying to get all the info i can so here i am waiting for imprezed's results and write up. so while waiting, i'm tinkering with the lil things

Imprezzed, I can't wait for your writeup. You mentioned something earlier about an oil return line for the S5 N/A front cover, without needing to replace it with a TII one? Any way to get more clear pics of the coolant setup? Planning the oil/coolant lines has been the hardest part for me so far.

I'll be turboing my N/A this summer, using a TII LIM (portmatched to 6port block) with an FD UIM (portmatched to TII LIM) and a stock S5 turbo/manifold. Will most likely modify the stock I/C into a FMIC the Aaroncake way.

I see you're having fuel issues... would you recommend getting 720's for the secondaries right off the bat?

I did the same swap as you. it ran like a champ untill my waste gate got stuck shut. I also did a small write-up on it.

How much did the injectors set you back? After reading this thread, I want to go 720 secondaries, as I'd rather have too much fuel than not enough.

Well it happened, i'm not positive on it but i believe the motor blew. I'm having starting issues and some other things, i'm going to redo a compression check tomorow to find out for sure.

If you're running 4x720 on the stock ECU, that's more than likely the reason why you're having issues starting/etc.

What new could possibly happen, other than maybe blowing the motor, lol.

still having some issues, now i'm running a TII ecu, front mount intercooler, 13 psi and pulls really hard, still have some starting issues though, it seems to flood right when i crank it up, i believe it is the 720ccs injectors int he sec are leaking, i no longer have 720s in the primaries but 550cc.

I will post some pics tomorow, shooting for next week to order a water/ meth injection and turn the boost to 15 psi, i know it will probally wear out the turbo quicker but i'm upgrading it soon anyways.

Also i had it dynoed a little while back still on the NA ecu with 720cc sec 460 stock na primaries and 11psi boost and couldn't go above 6g cause of leaning out badly and it did like little over 200 ft lbs torque about 4gs and little over 200 hp at 6gs.

oh i also forgot to mention that i shattered the diff mount and destroyed my transmission. Sec gear is barly there and 3rd gears grinds no matter how you try to shift into it.
