I wonder what the neighbors think when they see you outside painting your car with a roller and a can of paint. Looks pretty good so far. Let us know when you get some more pics.

i agree nice job!

That is a pretty lame comment tho crass, why couldn't you think of doing it with your new awesome fd? If the paint turns out good it turns out good its not like its going to damage your car forever!

sorry to butt in, leme get this strait... He used a spray can and did those cars?
well, it aparently works with painting a whole car, but would it be possiable to use it to do "repaints" on our stock paint jobs instead of painting the whole car? im thinking of adding S5 Bumpers and moldings and a wing that are all white onto a red 7... could I repaint the bumpers and moldings and wing without making it look tacky and two toned?

from what i read, i gather that he sprayed the car and then used a Roller and thined it out, is that about right?

Nope, the paint is from a can. You thin it out with mineral spirits.

The whole point of this was to avoid spraying. They are thinning it out and rolling it on. No, it wont match your existing paint.

average cure time seems to depend on how humid it is too. when it was raining it took ~5 hours to cure. now that its warm and sunnny its ~2 hours.
as for temp michigan is pretty random but the last few days have been at 70.

Been watching this advance and I have to say it looks really good to be honest. A thought though... If you can do this much by yourself with rollers, what's to stop you from getting a good Wagner power sprayer ($60-$100) and stepping up the quality and ease of application? They aren't hard to use at all, and if kept clean, like any sprayer, they will give you consistent high quality results. Considering the price of a pro paint job, and all other things, this doesn't sound like it would be a bad idea. Just a thought.

polished, it could still use wet sanding to get it compeleatly smooth.
also it needs a wax.
let me say that polish will instantly show any mistakes you have made.
