Good job, the final results will be up to your stamina and patience with the polish.

Good luck!

Just switch hands often so you can be equally buff on both sides of your body.

yah got a gallon (on sale for $20) i used a bit more than 3/4 of it.
i bought 4 quarts of mineral spirits and maybe used 1.

as for sandpaper my had had a bunch of every grit laying around the house.
i have probably used about an 8x12" block of each grit.

well i just finished up the 6th and final overall body coat.
their are bits here and there that need touch up coats. and the spoiler is only 1/2 done (because i cant paint the top and bottom at the same time)

i would take pictures but it would look the same as the last set i uploaded lol.

sorry about the confusion, i painted my engine bay with the spray can version of the exact same paint. it's not high temp or anything. it's rustoleum gloss white, that's it. got it at walmart in the normal paint section

all i did was scuff up the old paint and spray this over it.

Would that paint endure the high temps of the engine bay?

well i haven't had any issues yet with the v8 in there and the headers put out a decent amount of heat near the shock towers. i really don't think there should be a problem.

well, i did a test on a hood from my shell. put only one coat on half of it, just to get a feel for the mixture and i think i got it dead on the first try. they aren't kidding when they say it's pretty much like water! regardless i am veeerrry pleased with how it came out with even only one coat. i could see my reflection in it... altho i did do one little thing different and maaaybe that helped

i'll post more with pics later hahahaha!

This is really incredible. I'm so very surprised that the car looks as good as it does from a damn roller. I usually joke about this type of stuff, but it looks like I can't anymore! Perhaps I'll get my poor friend in his 240 to do the same

*My god, the admins went crazy on the "smilies".

well my buddy SLEEPERFC on here is having issues with this as he has stated. i took some pics when i went out there with him to see what's happening. check this out.. we're pretty sure we figured out why, but lets see what you guys can come up with. we think the bucket his paint is in started to breakdown and is chemically mixing with the paint overnight. plus water from dew might have also been mixed in. the paint seems to be seperating. he will chime in here and tell you the details on what he's doing and what's going wrong. (this is after the 3rd coat) here are pics, thanks

is he using mineral spirits to thin the paint or something else? the paint should be oil based and repell water really well.

odorless mineral spirits. see, he mixed the paint up in that bucket the first day... then just left that same mix in there since. he forgot to cover it up and it when he went back for the next coats he just stirred it up and went at it. so it looks as if it's deteriorating (sp?) the bucket and it did rain so moisture probably got in the mix as well before he even painted the 3rd coat. hopefully he will get in here and clear it up as i'm just going off of what we talked about.

yea i was thinking the mineral spirits sitting in the paint that long then being used again couldn't be optimal. he'll get it tho, the car is going to look awesome!

on the moparts thread they mention to use 100% mineral spirits and not the odorless type for better results.

yea im trying to figure out whats going on with it. you can see in the roller paint pan thing that the paint is not all black...

if you look at the pic you can see what im talking about. its doing a dary cow looking pattern... wtf.. i dont see how thats possible.

the paint on the car feels very smooth to the touch, but looks like hell. the paint also dries to the touch in about 5 min. seriously... 5 min tops and i could rub it with my hand... thats not right i dont think.

when i started out the paint was a little too think i think. it was about 3 parts paint to one parts thinner. it was showing roller/brush marks and not leveling down. so now i thinned it to about ohh i dunnno... half and half. its like water.... well now it runs no matter how thin i appily it and it dries in 5 min.

I showed my buddy zac when he was there... how can it run like that? too thick? too thin? And then when i dries... its not all the same color.

this is the patch i painted for him.

im going to mix a new batch, make it thin like water and try it again tomarrow. If it comes out the same then im going to rattle can the car.
