my fc woe's, again! :0

So check it out, was kinda on hiatus with my rx-7 but i'm back and decided to fix things. but like always, i search and i search, but can't find any real clear results on a lot of the problems and i think some of the problems i got from my diagnostics are pretty complex, and i don't want to **** anything up without the boards help (lol).. K

So if you guys wouldn't mind, help me out with how I can fix, and maybe tell me what's the most important thing I should start fixing first, what I should fix myself and what I should ask a shop to do. I was always the if it's not broken, why fix it type of guy. So it seems things are messing up at the same time simultaneously, and I decided to upgrade rather then replace.

Here's the list of what's wrong:

-Struts and shocks need to be replaced, looks like one of the struts are in real bad condition. (Was thinking racing beat springs with illumina's)

-Alignment needed <-- pretty much steering wheel is crooked when driving straight

-Output shaft oil seal and speedometer o-ring is leaking on transmission

-The washer tank leaks

-Air filter and fuel filter are pretty dirty (changed fuel filter about.. 8k miles ago? how often should I have to replace it?)

-Plastic thermostat housing is leaking coolant slightly

-A/C works, but not that cold..

-Upper front vacuum solenoid on the engine has a broken nipple (broke one changing the vac hoses lol)

-Heater hose that attaches to the engine block on the right rear is swollen up at the hose clamp

-Windshield wiper only works at low speed

-The left sunroof cable is stuck in place so it's stuck open.

So I figure my FC want's more then just love from the tune ups I give it..

Found a good link to help my repair go easier, I'm guessing the O-Ring will be replaceable as well when I'm doing this.

If anyone can help, I'm trying to locate where on the FSM it shows the OUTPUT SHAFT OIL SEAL is, if anyone knows what number, your help will be appreciated.

I got the same problem with my windshield wiper, but my sunroof works, it's just stuck close, unless I hand-push it up for the first bit, then it will work with the button.

Good luck.

Better then stuck open in the rain, lol. Thanks.

Anyone know if people both to make fake Illumina's or anything?

I'm tempted to get these: Click here

But I'm wondering why they're so much cheaper then on rx7.com or Racing Beat, and isn't the box supposed to have like, Italicized "Illumina" on the box? If someone can confirm the most likely these are legit, that would help.

As for springs, I deciding between RB's from $240 or these Tanabe GF210's from ebay (link)for $194 or these Tien S Tech's (link) for 176

The Tien's say they are a 1" drop, and then a little lower they say they are 1.5" drop, which is it? (I'll search and see if I find anything)

What are people's experiences with a 1.5" drop ? Too low? This car is being used for a daily driver but it's the car I'm practicing in for track days.

edit// found a good thread on RB vs Tien https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/tein-s-tech-springs-vs-racing-beat-springs-391526/

So I guess Tien's are out.

There's a thread about this, Sideways7 said that if your wipers work only on low and don't park then your relay went bad, and can get it fixed or replaced at mazdamark.com

Lots of counterfeit TEIN stuff on Ebay.

Talk to Rishie at AutoRND, he's a forum supporter and has great customer service. I got my Super Drift coilover kit from him and couldn't be happier.

Yeah I tried contacting Rishie about a set of illuminas racing beat springs and rear toe eliminators but he hasn't responded. I ended up getting Tanabe GF310 Springs and 5 way adj Tokico Illumina's from ebay for 630 total. Hopefully they get here in one peace and things go good.

Plastic? I have a little covering that can come out with a screw in there (doesn't feel like plastic) that has like, the carpeting over it to match with the interior, I'm guessing that's it? I'll try it out, thanks.

Steering Wheel and Idle Woes part 1: Question :[

The idle goes to **** and hunts around when I more my steering wheel left and right, and sometimes dies out completely when I'm making a sharp turn with the clutch in.

What I found when I searched and read the FC FAQ, was that it was a dirty fuel sock. I went to autozone, checked how much, and said **** getting that **** for 21 dollars on special order. So I go home and took out my fuel pump, I look at the sock and it doesn't look nearly as dirty as any picture I've seen on here. No gunk, no dark sport, the rectangular little box was just kind of a **** yellow, a darker but mellower yellow.

So I figure that can't be it, a put it back in, rescrew everything, and I start my car up for a test drive. It feels better, a lot better, but as it gets warm, idle isn't bouncing around as much except for the steering wheel problem.

My FD bud figures it's my alternator, any ideas?

Can anyone walk me through changing my suspension? Looks pretty self explanatory, but I've never done it so yeah. I found a thread that tells me how to replace them already but I just want to make sure and do it right.

All I have are new shocks and springs, are there any crucial things I HAVE to replace while I'm at it?
