tein s-tech springs vs. racing beat springs

just wondering if anyone has ever heard anything about the Tein springs. Are they any good or should I just stick with the Racing Beats'? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for a budget. I am not looking for looks, only performance and sacrifice as little ride quality as possible. The car is mainly used as a daily driver with occasional hot lapping at my local race track in the summer. I already have installed KYB shocks and struts otherwise the car is stock. It is an '86 GXL with 130k miles with stock sized wheels and tires( that is the next upgrade after the springs.

Hello,

I just installed my s-techs this last week. I also installed KYB AGX's, the height is really nice. The nose is about 5 inches off the ground and the rear sits a littel higher. Performance wise.... its a whole different car. Truly amazing. Highly recomended. $140 from rxecret.

I'd actually perfer the Racing Beats over Teins, dont get me wrong they're a great price, but they are too close to stock spring rates to really make a difference, the RB's are a bit stiffer and yeild a bit better performance.

Though they're a bit more expensive, I reccomend the RS-R down springs. A great set of springs for a daily driven FC from a very nice company. 1.4 inch drop in front and .8 inch drop in the rear. The rates are 201 lbs. and 123 lbs. respectively. I don't have them on my car but I've ridden in an FC with them and they are very nice.

I would rather get the RB springs because they're linear rate while the S-techs are progressive. I'll never go progressive again. =/

^ I had almost forgoten about that, that is definately why you dont want to go with the Teins, dish out a little extra for the RB's if your looking for a mild performance spring.

whats wrong with linear? bcool you know turbo and n/a springs are the same from experience? i don't think ill be able to afford the rb springs or if i do then not a sway bar for a while i want to eliminate understeer pretty well. i don't really want to do to much weight reduction because my turbo II will be a daily driver next year.

there's nothing wrong with linear. Why would you ask something like that?
