FC reverse vented hood

I know that there has been a huge interest lately for a good reverse vented hood for the FC. Well, 5one5 Innovations is currently working on one. The prototype should be done in the next 2 weeks with production following that by 3 weeks or so after the prototype is finished. The production hood will be made of fiberglass. A CF version is possible if enough people wanted one, but our main concern is a fiberglass version. I have some rough pictures of the start of the prototype. To go along with the front vent, the hood will have smaller vents on both sides towards the rear of the hood both over the turbo and over the TB. If you like what you see post in here or PM me about it. We are trying to gauge everyone's interest about this hood so we know how many to make up front. We are not asking for deposits yet since we don't have a finished product to show, so this list is for interest only. But we ARE going to make this hood and it WILL be available soon. There are several people on this forum already that are using our gauge pods and love them. So if you search for 5one5 you'll find several threads with posts from satisfied customers. Product quality and customer service are our main concerns.

It is a large front vent. The hood was designed around those of us who run V-mount IC setups. But you can be sure that this vent will pull plenty of air through.

The costs aren't firm yet. But we are looking at $650 shipped. And seeing as the quality of this hood will be on par with companies like Panspeed and the like that is not a bad price at all I think.

Need more pics. It looks like your making something similar to the Panspeed Aero Bonnet II if thats the case I may be interested. I have been seriously debating buying a genuine panspeed hood. But I'd really like a replica in CF.

The front vent does resemble the Panspeed hood because of the location and size of the vent. But the rear vents will really set this hood apart. I love the Panspeed hood too though. I'll have more pics once the prototype is finished and then even more pictures after the hoods go into production. If anyone has any questions at all ask them in here or via PM and I'll be more than happy to answer them.

The panspeed hood has a vent over the turbo as well. Do you have any pics of the rear vents?

Any pix with the hood down? Looks like there might be clearance issues with the stock shroud and/or aftermarket strut bars from the look of it. Looks the the vent sinks down a good amount but dont want to jump to conclusions.

Stan,

We had been thinking about that and the drop down won't be as severe on the production model as the pictures I have here. That's why I wanted everyone to know that these were rough prototype pics. I just wanted to post up some of the progress so people wouldn't think that this was just someone talking and not doing.

Juiceh, I will have pictures of the rear vents as soon as the prototype hood is finished. I'll post pictures up the same day I get them.

I'm glad that people are taking interest in our hood. And thanks guys for your compliments on our gauge pods. We really try to make the best product possible every time. I'm going to go ahead and put the names of people who said they're interested on this list. Keep in mind that this list is not a commitment, but just a way to help me keep track of potential customers. I can't wait until I can get more pictures to show you guys. I'm sure that you'll all be very pleased with what you see.

Once you have some more advanced progress pictures up I'm definatly in. I just want to know what im getting before I sign up to spend $650.

Looks good though. The vent is in the perfect place for my VMIC (and I need a hood like this desperately). I'll check often for more 'finalized' pics.

RyoFC3S, I'll be sure to get pictures up just as soon as I get them from Mael. I don't blame you for wanting to see more pictures. We don't expect anyone to put any money down without detailed pictures of either the final prototype or a production hood.

Ryo, shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll send you an invite to our Ofoto.com photo album. There is an S13 hood in there that Mael made that I want you to see. It will give you an idea of what he can do.
