The vent over the TB has been eliminated actually. It will just have the main vent and then a vent over the turbo. Just thought I'd update with that info.

Hmm I might be getting a shell soon to build from the ground up. This looks like a nice piece to put on it. I'd like to stick around and see the end result.

This hood looks like about what I've been looking for but I've got a couple of questions that I didn't see an answer for. Will it use the stock latch? The vent looks kind of far back so will I be able to get the intercooler to still be in front of the radiator so it's not pulling hot air through the IC? Nice going so far on this project.

Yes I'd like to know about the latch too. If you can keep it the same as the stock latch that would be very pleasant and easy for others.

It's about 99% sure that the stock latch will not be on this hood. I have seen far too many fiberglass hoods break that latch point and end up with a hood smashing the windshield. That is something that we do not want to happen. So hood pins will more than likely be the method of holding this hood down.

You don't have any interest in a fiberglass one? I'm just curious because the CF hoods will be at least a couple of months down the road from the fiberglass ones.

How about I paint a fiberglass one Cusco blue for you Rob?

Not to mention that CF hoods aren't 100% for srue. It will all depend on how many people want them and put deposits down on them. We won't make them just because.

for 650 for a fiberglass, I would assume a CF version would be a bit pricey. Fiberglass is perfectly adaquate, I dont know why everyone is on this CF kick for? Ya its light and strong, but with the hood painted you can tell.

And something that most people don't realize is that unless you are willing to fork out the HUGE amounts of money for a dry carbon piece, regular wet CF pieces will weigh almost the exact same as a high quality fiberglass part like the ones 5one5 makes.

Yeah, but the people in your town are getting the crappy CF hoods made in Mexico that will warp and turn yellow in 6 months time Nick!! With the exception of Ed. His CF TII hood was nice. And his new 5one5 fiberglass hood is going to be really nice.

Any chance the price will be lowered? I understand, that well EVERYONE wants this hood. I know its almost half the price of the panspeed unit, any chance of a 500 price tag?

I'm in for a hood. Glad to see one actually being made and not 80 pages of people talking about it...
Also, are you the guys that make the idiot light triple pod? Looking for one of those too.

Hey Venus
Yes we make the tripple gauge pod as well as a single door card pod. Just PM boostedrex to order one.
Turbo23 I hear ya about the price but you have to realize that this hood will be "about" 650 SHIPPED. So if you think about it, it would be close to 500 PLUS shipping......from Canada eh.
I am willing to do a latch but If I do one...
A: the release date will push back (I have to make a latch with a plate behind that has enough surface area to spread the load of force out)
B: the cost would most likely have to go up a bit (wont know how much till I figure out point A)
C: I'd recomend hood pins still lol.

I'm glad everyone is taking intrest in 5one5's products!

Thanks Mael

If I was gonna get this hood I'd still prefer a latch. Not everyone will want to get locking hoodpins
