Question Compression on a rebuild..?

What would be the lowest acceptable compression on a freshly rebuilt motor...? Thanks.

depends on the condition of the rotor housings and any reused seals.

All the plates were lapped by Racing Beat... The rotor housings are VERY GOOD condition... Only thing re-used / not new, were meaty 3mm apex seals... With a supersized streetport.

I would say 110 in each combustion chamber anything below that on a freshly rebuilt motor is unacceptable in my opinion.

I opted for 90 in each... It's coming apart tommorow.

The housings were the best pair I could get my hands on, not to mention the best condition I've ever seen personally. The exhaust ports I'm thinking might be toooo BIG. I've scored another pair since and I'm going to try them stock.

well mine is around 90 right now i think.

i haven't tested it lately but it take s a couple miles to actually show a constant number.

Yah, I thought rebuilds showed lower than normal compression until after like 2000 miles? 90 seems fine, until 2-3k though, after that it should be higher.

My #'s are a bit off from 90... I was even hoping for at LEAST 60 in each. No Doubt about it it's tooooo' low. At least I built it and KNOW EVERYSINGLE PART inside that thing... I think I know what's wrong.

Kevin Landers says reusing old end plates with new seals, etc. after break-in, he sees about 120ish. New Mazda remans have about 125.

NOTE: This is after break-in, before you should see numbers about 90 or so for first 2k miles or so.
