Question almost done with the PS removal...

almost done removing my PS. it feels like im steering without the belt on the pump. i heard that it was easier without the PS fuse. where is it located? i already checked the fuse box on near the dead pedal and in the engine bay.

You're thinking of the P/s circuit in the CPU, not a fuse.

The steering won't get any easier by removing this circuit... removing the circuit only removes any beeping noise associated from removing the pump (an idiot warning).

To make it easier, flush the rack and loops the lines. You can also add looser tires (bad for handling and braking), or decrease the weight over the front end.

Hmm...so if the antenna fuse is blown you won't have any power steering huh? Well my rear defroster light won't go off and my power steering seems like its gone. Guess I'll check that fuse.

the beeping you will get comes from a silver box under the dash just to the left of the steering colum, remove unclip the wires that plug in and your done.

Yes I want pics what do you use to loop the p/s I took my belt off for autoX because of a bizar incident, (MY p/s flet like it went out for a sec or 2 when staging, so I just curiously turn the wheel back and forth and on the 4th turn the car dies,, wont start or push start,,, thinking it was the battery terminal, got a new one and that wasn't it, a friend looked at my steering column and it was wraped with my ignition wires and disconnected the power to the coils, once untangled I got it straight with a zip tie and just left the p/s blet off.......much to say I had fun, and I need to work out more anyway..........please post pics of the p/s to m/s converstion.....

Big difference. Hydralic fluid doesn't like to try and compress.

so im supposed to plug ONE of the lines from the drivers side of the rack and loop it with the other one comming out of the passenger side of the rack?? how the hell am i going to get to the one on the driver side if my motor is still in there?

this is what ive done so far.
1. take out the pump and 2 main lines that go to it
2. pluged the 2 main line connections on the rack.
3. plugged the line right behind that, that led to the front of the car to the cooling line
4. pull out the ANTENNA IG fuse (supposed to be for the PS too)

ive already driven the car around and it feels OK. its drivable. but will looping the lines make steering easier?? if so then how the hell to i do it?? can anyone explain this part to me step by step?? all the write ups ive found basically jusy say "rip out the pump and loop the 2 lines together". not much detail in that. can someone please help!! thanks!!!

Yes. The two lines closest to the passenger side get joined together.

how the hell am i going to get to the one on the driver side if my motor is still in there?
Jack up the car and climp under it, or reach down from above. If needed, remove the battery tray, and the rad and shroud.

this is what ive done so far.
1. take out the pump and 2 main lines that go to it
2. pluged the 2 main line connections on the rack.
3. plugged the line right behind that, that led to the front of the car to the cooling line
4. pull out the ANTENNA IG fuse (supposed to be for the PS too)

Good. Put that fuse back in and remove the P/s section from the CPU.

i've already driven the car around and it feels OK. its drivable.
Then why are you asking?

but will looping the lines make steering easier??
This has been specifically answered several times in this thread, twice by myself alone. How many times do we have to answer this before it sinks in?

if so then how the hell to i do it??
Plug the line closest to the drivers side. Loop the passenger side and middle lines. This has been answered before as well.
Use petroleum-safe hosing and some worm gear clamps, or make a connector out of BSSL.

can anyone explain this part to me step by step?? This is easy stuff. If you still need someone to hold your hand after all the information in this thread, removing the p/s is out of your capabilities.

all the write ups ive found basically jusy say "rip out the pump and loop the 2 lines together". not much detail in that. can someone please help!! thanks!!!
That is because that is all that is involved. This is not hard.

I apologise if I seem annoyed, but how many times do I have to answer the same questions for you before you're going to understand? How many threads are you going to start about this subject?

Christ, did you even search? Look what came up under a search for "power steering removal pics"... https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...g+removal+pics
