Wow... props to the guys at Mazdatrix for such a clean build so far.

Stay with the TMIC. With you Water/meth kit, you'll be good to go, and have less pressure drops

Wicked build man...

Thanks man. Yeah thay are just way behind schedule. It was suspossed to be done on july 30th for my B-day and it is still sitting there... A month and half late is just unacceptable I think, especially for the money we are paying.

Scratch my last post! Just made it down there today and it is well worth the extra time. Everything on this car is beautiful! This is the cleanest fc engine compartment I have ever seen and you can see all the time and love put in to this car. HUGE THANX TO JOHN and everyone else at Mazdatrix for a beautiful build!!!!! I get a little upset time to time because it is behind but man when I go look at it I see why. I HIGHLY recomend Mazdatrix for all your rotary needs. More pics will be up as soon as I get them off the camera.

As of right now it is running and basically finished. It has a base map in that we will run for 1000 miles for break in. I will be limited to 4k rpm and 2psi of boost so I don't get tempted to mash the throttle. after 1k miles it will get a full tune. We're gonna go for a conservative tune for reliabilty.

Just a heads up- I will be bringing a bunch of left overs parts to sevenstock that I will be selling prior to the show in the staging area. There's to many to name but if anyone is interested start calling "dibs" now. Look for a blacked out Toyota Tundra towing a 10ae when you get there or pm me and I will hold whatever it is you want. I do not ship anything so sevenstock will be your only chance unless your in socal.

First they thought the glue wasn't burning off the seals but turns out something was wrong with the seals or something. My dad called and he said something about them being glued to short from mazda or whatever. Here goes another 4 months without my car. I don't know how they didn't catch it when they ran it on the engine stand(if they even did). My dads friend has rebuilt his fd motor 3 times already in the time it took them to build mine once...

at the same time you were having more than just an engine rebuild and have something to standby too if its not done right. does suck but at least its still getting taken care of.

Yeah I know. Everything they have done has been very exceptional and I am very happy with all of the work, just not the time it takes to do it. What is nice is they could have given it back and said there you go it's all done, beacause it was running and drivable but they are a reputable shop and luckly they wouldn't do that. Just sucks that when we dropped it off we told them it has to be done in 2 months and here we are 4 months later with no car.

thats cause cars aren't built over night right. i can understand trying to put a time limit on it but i've seen it before not everything always goes right when taking stuff apart or installing. just think of it this way and that time has been taken to insure more things are right than wrong. we all know that stuff does happen.

"stuff happens" in your garage or your friends back yard. Doubling an agreed upon project deadline isn't professional by any standard, period.

If the scope of the project changed while the car was @the shop, that's one thing, but the biggest cause of home built projects not meeting deadlines is waiting on parts, an excuse this particular outfit simply doesn't have as they have a warehouse... and on top of that, to not do the job right the first time.....

I don't doubt that everything looks pretty, but if they were gonna give the man a broke motor, they could have at least given it to him on time. Typically there is a sliding scale between cost, time, and quality; I won't ask what has been paid, but I'm sure it wasn't cheap, fast is out the window, and the motor is coming back out so... Part of being professional is being able to accurately assess jobs and your ability to handle them - sometimes that means telling people what they want can't be done when they want it.

I love Mazdatrix products and will continue to do so, but this story leaves a bit to be desired from the tuning side of business. /rant

Plus we were told AT LEAST 5 times that it would be done in a couple days. Then a couple days came and.... No car? I'm also worried that they are going to charge us more for having to pull the motor again.

If they messed up and because of that have to do extra work, they better not charge you a penny they should even give a slight discount because of the inconvenience or something.

I have a feeling they will cut us a deal. Usually when I get feeling they are right so hopefully it will be. They have apologized numerous times so that is nice. My car was my life though, I cleaned it like 2-3 times a week and I was always surfing the internet to find meets and cruises and stuff. I am just itchin' to go to some meets and cruises!!!!

Without knowing what the problem is regarding the compression I can't really comment on that, but the glue not burning off..... LAME. What I can comment on is the wiring, it's a small grade above hack in my book. Nothing special about it. Using that expandable sleeving in an engine bay is just plain stupid.

Hope the end result is what you're after, becuase that's all that really matters.
