I know they did not do anything special. It is just like anything else- Sure you can make a hamburger on your bbq in your back yard but instead you go and buy one at food joint. Same thing but this is not a hamburger. No body here knows me just like I do not know you. Me and my dad have built everything from extremely high performance go-ped motors to drag banshee's to anything else you can think of. My dad is 43 and has been an engine mechanic since 17 so trust me we could have EASILY done all of this work but when you do it for a living you do not feel like spending your off time doing it. Open your ears people.
You don't owe anyone an explanation. The only thing "you're" witnessing is basically a sad display of silliness amongst other things, which includes numerous character flaws. I hope you understand it for what it's worth because laughter has no substitute, and this is a good thing.

That went to hell fast. I'm not gonna support any particular person here but I just have things to say. First off OP, clean car, really man it looks good, at that age if my dad were to pay for this to be done then I probably would've done it too. He didn't and I definitely love the fact more then anything that I've been able to do everything on my car. If you get another one and want to learn about them more power to you, it's a great feeling to learn more about them day by day. I personally wouldn't say anything to TTT. If you check out his threads he's a genius and has one of the best all-around built FC's ever, I wouldn't be surprised if he did build his own house haha.

I just don't understand why everyone has to jump on everyone here. Shiiiiit, I'll probably get a shitty reply just from saying this... It is the internet, but this forum is for help and support, some criticism is given it's all good it happens. I just don't see why everyone's gotta blow up on each other. What happened to good old questions and answers? No one has to get all pissy and make replies like a lot of people have on this thread, and I'm not calling anyone out I'm just trying to say I may have only joined this forum a couple years ago but people were a lot more chill then. I just don't see why we can't go back to that. Just my .02, I'd just like to see this forum go back to what it was when it was just a site for enthusiasts where people enjoyed going and could come here without so much animosity.

I guess I'll I'm trying to say is OP, don't blow up on people, there's always gonna be people that give you ****, all of us who stay rotary are gonna get it. All that matters is what you think of your car, that's it, I understand it's definitely nice to get some feedback but it's really hard here. And everybody else just give the kid a break, a lot of us would've taken that chance too If we had it, he hasn't learned anything it's all good, I came to this site knowing the same or less then him maybe, back then this site had so many helpful people that got me where I am today, I miss when people could just reply with some respect. I know that no one's probably gonna read this but I tried haha.

Haha, lmfao.

TTT is a good guy and has good intentions, but like stated previously, he does come out a bit blunt.

All you guys who are getting worked up that his dad paid for it, you have to remember that this is also his dad's "fun" car too, this was mentioned...

I do want to say thank you for the input on the relays. I checked them with a heat gun after a 2 hour drive today and it read 170f so we are going to do something, not sure what yet. I know you guys have good intentions but I have been through millions of build threads and I am the only one who has been put down so harshly. Again thank you to all that have given me pointers because like I stated before I am a that is here to learn. If I did not want to learn I would not still be on this forum dealing with all this crap.

I can't fault someone for taking their car somewhere reputable to have work done. I've probably spent twice what I should have on projects over the years because of mistakes I've made or decisions I made that didn't turn out like I expected.

The thing is, in the end, I can look back and realize that money wasn't wasted... it was "education." When you pay someone else, you don't get that.

Enjoy the car. It looks fun.

^ Very true. I could have learned so much by doing this myself. ( not myself, but me and my dad)

Relays have been remounted-

Thank you all for your pointers and as you can see I do take them in to consideration. My ears are open to learn and I now realize that some are a little more blunt than others but it is all good, I am happy that you are trying to help out a fellow 7 owner, it is much appreciated.

It's also a reflection of the educational system as well.

I believe you should put a little filter there for it to vent.

There are two nipples you can use on the oil feed tube, one larger one on the bottom and the one smaller one on the top. I use the bottom nipple and just cap the smaller one on top closer to the cap. Then to the catch can. From there I went to the TID (Turbo Inlet Duct). This way you will have a vacuum in the system.

Try not to go to a nipple after the turbo. If you do go to a nipple after the turbo you will have to run a check valve so your not pressurizing your crank case.

When you mount the catch can make sure it is easily accessible so you can drain it with ease or have it mounted so that you can remove the can and drain it.

Thanx for the info everyone. I did some searching after posting but I am confused. We will figure it out though.

I have to do 1000 miles of break in before we get it dynoed but I will post pics when we do. (I don't know how to post vids) Right now I am at 400 miles and I hope to get to 700 by sunday. The car is slower than dirt right now- limited to 4250 soft cut 4500 hard cut and only able to hit 3.5 psi then it falls on its face.

Better for the relay's, but butt-ugly and way too easy to be booted by a passenger climbing into the car.

That was my first thought as well, I'd put some kinda kick shield in the way.... or better yet, put them under the stock kickshield.

Passengers are very rare in this car. My gf would be the only one and if i'm with her we take her car because she does not like to go fast.

Regardless of this fact, there are still far better places to put them, and you didn't address the "looks like ***" part.

That is very opionated because I like the way they look

Plus we were going to hide them but we wanted to make them easy to get to if we need to replace one. We put some thought in to this, we did not just slap them on there and say ok fixed.

When I rewired the FD I ran into the same issue as you regarding relay location and realized that I couldn't remember ever having to replace a relay.
In fact, I can't even recall the last time I replaced a fuse.

This gave me a little more latitude in placement. Actually, a lot of latitude.

I'm glad you like the result, it's your car so carry on.

Thanx!

Just an update-

299 whp 244 wtq at 10 psi. We did not hit 300..... The wastegate needs more porting or we need an external and we should hit around 310. Nelson of RRR said that my motor flows the best of any FC he has ever dyno'ed and the wastegate can not keep up. So +1 to MT for an amazing port job.

I have about 1200 miles on it now and it is running great and very smooth. My dad and I went at it a couple times on the freeway on the way to formula d last night and who ever got the jump is who won, so our cars are about even. BTW he is runnin' a Nismo 370z. I have not raced his M3 yet.
