new rx7 broke=( transmission problem please help

I just bought a 1984 gsl rx7 with a 13b streetport in it. I drove it about 4 hours and all of a sudden I was shifting from 3rd to 4th and it slammed into gear. I slowed down and couldnt down shift. I didnt lose any clutch feel but I was locked out of all gears. I shut the car off and the car shifts fine. When I looked at the slave cylinder it was moving what seems to be full length when the clutch was pressed. I was thinking the throwout bearing but its not being loud or noisy. If anyone can help me figure out what happened that would be awesome. I had this car one day and cant even drive it.

You've owned this car 1 day? Problems already. Call the previous owner and ask him whats wrong. Hopefully it's just something wrong with the clutch.

you have pedal pressure. So your hydraulics should be fine but double check.
you can shift it with the car off and there was no noise, So your tranny should be fine.

how did you check for the slave travel?

What kind of clutch? When was it installed?

trans issue

It is a brand new act clutch and fidanza flywheel. The slave is also brand new. I had a friend use the clutch to check the slave was working it does. There are no leaks anywhere and it still is good fluid level. I asked the guy I bought it from he said he didnt have any problems. I drove the car 2 1/2 hours home and it was fine, next day this happened out of no where.

yuppers, gotta pull the tranny out. No worries, it was inevitable. The original owner might never have known unless he did the install himself and messed up somehow.

Check the shifter connection to the tranny. Maybe something was installed improperly.

Try starting the car in 1st gear and see if it drives in gear. Then see if it shifts in to 2nd.

it seems like a risk not worth taking. You might damage the tranny

not saying the OP has limited knowledge or anything but this method if done could cause more damage that good.what if the engine catches and fires up assuming he didn't pull the fuse/relay for the pump?or fries his starter due to the extra load?the safest way still is not to assume that things are working fine and check everything.even inside the car where the clutch pedal is,might be leaking as well if the slave is about to pack it in.

Bent clutch fork or fu*ked up pressure plate, pivot pin or fork out of position - but have a second experienced person look at the hydraulics first to double check before tearing out the tranny. See if the PO will help you pull it. I would if I was the PO.
