Need help

81 12a with street port. Turbo charger with BAE intake. This is a draw through setup with a 380 holley double pumper carb. Will not idle below 2800rpm just falls flat and dies. Tried almost everything in the book to fix it including checking for vacuum leaks. Above 2800 runs strong. Wondering if a holley sniper might work with this application if so which one? Thx in advance.

I really don't know much about carbs.
I will say that it probably makes some difference whether the engine is hot or cold. Or if you were smelling has when it was running.

I will give you a bump, best wishes.

Did it ever run right? Whats the details on the setup? Sounds like it just needs to be tuned or the holley is not jetted right or something.

Some backstory would help.

Like, did you just acquire this car? or was it running fine then one day...

If you just got the car; I'd say clogged idle fuel circuit.

If this randomly just started happening when you were driving to work; I'd say open the bowels up and check for a piece of the carb that fell out.

I wouldn't fuel inject a draw through; thats just silly.

I've owned the car for 20+ years. It did idle fairly good a while ago but year after year it got worse. I've rejetted numerous times, played with air screws, checked vacuum tried all when it was warm and cold. Changed to a Carter 4 barrel with same effect. I've exhausted everything I know and then some from others. So my last ditch would be to try a learning carb.
