NC 1st Gen rear disk brake trouble

Hi folks, new guy here trying to get full posting privildeges and learn something. I am having some trouble with my rear brakes, I recently bought an SCCA Improved Touring 1st gen race car, and after rebuilding all the calipers and reassemble the rears have tore up a new set of $120 porterfiled racing brake pads in less than a half mile of slow test drive. Eveidently the previous owner really abused the car, and the rear caliper brackets are damaged. Due to my inexperience I did realize the extent. When I disassembled the brakes the clips that hold the calipers at the top and bottom were not there, the fronts did have them. I rebuilt the calipers and put everything back together the way I found it using all new rotors, pads and factory Mazda pad mounting kits, although I wondered now why I bought the rears because I really used was the grease. During the test drive I heard a rubbing sound that turned to a gridning sound and thought it was the LSD, but before I could get it turned around I realized it was the right rear brake. So when I took it apart again the pads had a divot taken out and the rotor had a grove in it. I decided to try to put the clips in and the only ones I could get in were the inside ones, I saw no way for the outside ones to attach, but then it hit me, at some point something must have broke on the previous owner and allowed the brackets to rub against the rotor, the tab where the clips go was badly abraded and worn away so much that there was nothing for the clip to hang on to. So my question is if I could find some rear brackets and put these clips in do you guys think that would solve my problem?
