I drove mine around the block for the first time in 2 months. Now it's right back in the shop because its a little loud with only an open down pipe. Ordering the new wideband controller tonight and might have it ready for autox this Saturday.

Got my bezels preped and painted, used the same paint suggested by Glen. It's a lil darker than stock but it'll be fine. Pictures make it look darker than it actually is.

took apart my hub assemblies. the driver side one was so lose I would say it was torqued at 1ftlb lol. I did the proper torqueing technique and no more shimmy however when I was in the neighrborhood doing the test drive my steering wheel came off. turns out the momo hub actually broke on me. glad that didnt happen on the interstate. anyway, once I get it fixed, I will bring the car to work and snag some pictures in the historical part of town with the leaves falling. today is my birthday so I should be off work, however I am stuck in town without a ride all day, lol

yeah it is unfortunately a side-effect of building a car then halfway through the build moving 900 miles. I lost a few parts while the car was being towed and being robbed three times during the build didnt help at all. If I wasnt robbed on Oct 18th last year I woulda finished my car shortly after and well Id still have my glove box.

That'll grab your attention in a big way. What Bill Cosby used to call a "First you say it, then you do it" moment.

Glad it turned out OK.

yeah this is the first time I have ever heard of a momo hub actually breaking on someone. I bought it two years ago so I doubt they will honor a replacement, lol. I think the 1:15 ratio with 225's and the 330 wheel might be too much for it, lol. Not to mention I got a nasty bump steer problem going on right now. can someone with the respeed R&P tell me which holes I should be using with bigger wheels and dropping the car 2"? I think I need to go to the bottom holes but could be wrong. I have it set in the center holes right now I think.

Could mean the failure is rare, or could mean that survivors of the failure are rare!

I checked my hub nuts yesterday too because there was play in the bearings. I was able to remove them both by hand. At least the cotter pin was in them. I did the technique like you said and all the play is gone. Hopefully the bearings weren't damaged. I wasn't surprised though and actually expected them to both be loose since every other fastener on the car was finger tight when I got it.

Is that console a standard piece or aftermarket, and where can i get one? I'm looking for ways to get at least 3 52mm guages in without it looking stupid.
Nice job on the paint btw.

As response said, it stock trim for 84/85. The two outside holes are for blower motor speed and AC/heat. Center is for the clock but mine didn't work so I used my dremel to make it work for my A/F guage.

Since I took the day off I'm going to finish the susp/steer systems. I got some string too to do an alignment after all is tied in where it should be. While I got it up I painted the calipers. We got rain on the way so I figure they can dry while the storm slips by. Radar shows a small cloud of rain so it'll be a short break.

And yes those are FD calipers on a sa22c

Ok, thanks. Its a different layout to the aus delivered ones which have slide ***** for the a/c.
Any chance of measuring the size of those three holes for me?
Did they come in dark grey/ charcoal?
I might have to look into getting one.
Cheers.

If no one else gets to it, I'll measure a set I have out. Both of mine are more of a silver.

Took the car out to calibrate the speedo and get her first bath this year. Ran out of gas in the way home. So I got the unique opportunity to calibrate the fuel gauge lol.

After filling up an setting the full perameter, I stopped by to see Hecktor, who kept saying how much $$ I musts put into it. Then off to autozone to talk to the Subaru guy who took lots of pictures.

Then I brought it home. Good news, no more bump steer. Bad news shimmy is still there but not bad at all. So respeed rack is setup FINALLY, front end alignment done (string, tape measure, washers, and a hook). Definetly turned heads driving today. Can't wait till I can DD her again(almost there)!

They come in black, Sorry I know so much about this car. :P
If you buy any American center plate it will match up to yours. Due to it being plastic spray paint can fix your color choice.

I don't have my calipers here so a tape measure was the best I could do, hope it helps.

They came is a silver/grey color, mine had wore pretty bad from 27 years of sun and use and I'm sure ya saw the crack in it. Good condition ones are hard to come by here, imagine it's prolly harder on your end. As far as I know they only came in that silvery color but I'm sure someone here can verify. (Glen, Steve)
