What did you do to your FB today?
The body is in really bad condition. LOTS of wheel well rust and the guy who owned it before me did a really poor job of trying to patch it up. I'll try to post pics of it later, there's a whole lot of crap in there atm (extra parts, fc stuff, etc). I also took the carb off and various other parts to get my auto running properly, and stole the seats from it because I didn't like the cloth ones. The car doesn't run because it needs a carb (which I have a couple extras, they just need to be rebuilt) and it needs a new exhaust (old one is clogged, but should be fine if someone were able to clean it out). Also needs an alignment due to an accident that I wasn't informed of when I purchased the car (the front end is misaligned, so I'm guessing it was hit on the drivers side or in a head on, nothing showed on carfax though... learned later carfax isn't great for Canadian cars -_-).
I'm in Vancouver, BC and have ZERO idea on how to even attempt to sell on here (mainly because of cross borders issues and shipping). I don't think anyone would want to come up here to buy it and trailer it home, which is why I was going to throw it up on CL. As for the price, people here always put their cars up for ridiculous prices, I felt $300 was fair since I only paid $500 for it and it's not running.

Something in the front end was clunking slightly. Turned out the caliper was a little loose. The cause was a lack of pad shims. The car came without them for some reason when I got it, so I swapped in a set I had gotten from rockauto a while back. Fixed the problem.

In other news, I cleaned my garage today, blew all the carbon dust out of the fiber filters for the carbon canister with compressed air, & realized that due to the position of the welds I had to drill out, many of my reattachment holes are too close ot the canister side for a nut to clear. So I'll have to make clearance dimples by hammering.
Already know what I'd do if I was to do another. Very different path I'd take now that I konw how it went together.
i tore down and started prepping another axle housing to swap my LSD unit into. and priced out LSD rebuild parts at mazda. is $40 per side of clutch discs/friction plates a good price? ($80 for all new LSD clutch discs and plates)
EXTREMELY.

drove it to work ...
yelled at some jack **** who was insisting on having his front bumper in my hatch at a red light .. told him if he was in a rush to back the hell off or I'd shut the car off and have a cig on the side of the road .... of course I got a fu look but he backed up and stayed off my bumper the next couple miles till I turned off

I thought I lost a rotor today!!!
cruizing @ about 60 when the power went away. Scared the **** out of me.
It happened about two blocks from home so I limped on in and went to the basement to diagnose the problem. Way low on power.
It felt just like it did when I lost an apex seal, excep it idled better.
Checked all the ignition, all working perfectly. Was just about to do a compression test when I noticed a different note coming from one of my 36 DCDs when I reved the engine. Took the air cleaners off and to my delight found that the linkage had come off one of the carburaters. Apparently I didnt tighten it enough when I syncronized them last week.
So now I'm doing my happy dance.....

There was a 2nd gen at the races this weekend, and halfway through his first run it sounded like he tossed an apex seal.
I always hate it when a rotary breaks down at the races.
Checked out the ignition and did a ghetto compression test, then had to attend to my own racing. He left, limping it home, but then showed up later for fun runs and the car was fine. Turned out one of his intake hoses had come off.

Got a new optima battery for her, fired her up, and just listened to that rb holley flowing thru those rb headers going brap brap brap. Jus like music to my ears, who needs a radio hooked up in the car lol
