So this evening I finally decided to ditch the A/C.. don't really care to argue why I did or shouldn't have or anything like that but when I went for a ride after removing everything I noticed my tach wasn't working. It still reads volts as it should with the motor off but with the motor running it isn't getting an RPM signal. The ONLY wires I touched today were these:

I have no idea what's up with that looped wire, my car is a complete wiring mess and needs totally redone at some point. Going out of the picture to the top was going to the A/C compressor, that connector was plugged into this:

There was nothing else hooked up to the compressor but that one wire and the loop didn't go anywhere. Does this have anything to do with my losing my RPM signal or did I accidentally bump something else around the battery/ignition area while pulling the A/C? Any input is appreciated, thank you.

You bumped something... that's the AC control relay, & it has nothing to do with the tach.

I sure did, I found the loose connection on a wire coming from the ignition. Can I ditch that whole relay box now that I've ditched the A/C? It's such a mess in the drivers firewall corner I really wish I could clean it up some.

Today I continued pulling crap from my car.. ditched the worthless radio and took out all my brand new speakers along with probably a mile of wires and the sub/box. All that along with the spare tire that doesn't hold air (useless without air) I estimate around another 20 worthless pounds removed. I really wish the whole engine bay wasn't covered in under body coating, it really really annoys me but there's not much I can do about it right now. Other than that I don't really have anything else on the to do list but even if I did I'm surely done for the day, it was too damn hot even at 9am. I about died lol.

Fairly sure that one relay can go completely; the yellow and blue wires cross the engine bay behind the vac line for the brakes, and go into the firewall near the AC hookup. I believe it's for the freeze sensor.

None of the air-conditioner wiring shows up on the SA wiring diagrams.

ditto, as far as im concerned i will repaint all my Rx-7's this color for the rest of my life... i still have no idea why they dropped the color when the S5 FC's came about, and it took them 10 years to almost get it right again for the fairwell final hurrah FD, the '02 Spirit R type A's "titanium grey"

I've always wanted to put this 280ZX vent I have into my hood but it's kinda for the wrong side of the hood and it's kinda too long and flat for the SA/FB hood.

yesterday, got rid of most of the crap the previous owner wired in, terribly i might add, he seems like he really liked masking tape instead of electrical tape got a new starter put in. something strangely satisfying about having something that turns on without having to bash the starter with a wrench. and today, found some nasty little rust holes in the recess where the sunroof sits need to get it sorted asap. today i was also reminded by the lovely CA heatwave that i really should get my ac system converted and charged....

Today... I made a new, non-ghetto bracket for my MAF, installed my double adjustable KONI's in the rear, and gave the old gal a good wash n wax, and continued my work on sumping my other gas tank
