Truer words.

Im at a point where I have all the hard to find bits. Massive challenge but worth it. One part I’m glad I did was to get the passenger door hinges from Australia. So my drivers door feels amazing. No sloppy hinges.

I should have the brake system completed in a few weeks. Cooling system should be done, minus an electric fan. And the parts for the turbo header will likely be ordered in a couple of days. My build page should be on fire soon

Nicely done Chris. Hope the weather up there is treating you well. Happy Holidays!

Thanks Tim, a bit cold for me, but I've been enjoying the 7 as rain permits. I hope you had a great holiday season as well!

thanks.

tomorrow I hopefully make my last salvage yard visit for this project. Short list. That said my GaugeArt gauge should be arriving tomorrow as well. Then I can get the dash buttoned up.

Replaced speakers

I finally upgraded my speakers. The new ones are a definite improvement over the old alpines. The old ones may have worked better after I re-ran all new wire. I’m surprised they worked at all with all the botched wiring Jerry, the PO did.

The second picture is just the left side speaker wiring. Nine splices! If you don’t know what you’re doing, get someone to do it for you, the right way.

Next year, I’ll get a new head unit. Nothing fancy, just a little better than the crappy pioneer.

Cool vintage-ish Panasonic. I'm a sucker for VU meters.

I noticed today that my tach was getting stuck right before 7k, and then I noticed why:

Well, just another thing to put on the to-do list....

Well at least thats an easy fix. No new parts needed just some time with the car.

Indeed. It's nice to not need to put the car on stands for once.

Good grief. Would never have seen THAT one coming!!
Easy to see how one could plunder the whole electric system trying to solve this, then squint at the dash: "....waaaaait a minute...!"
d-OH!
What a pain to have to burrow into the whole cluster to fix!!

sympathies!

That screw was one of the first things I did to my SA when I got it. The PO had solid mounts on the engine so I figured that's why it was backed out.
