As a rule i like to do everything twice. First time is more of a test run, you know, figure out the procedure, whether the part can be installed upside down or backwards, go buy all the tools that I apparently don't have, figure out how tight the bolts are, maybe break one of them to check their tensile strength, etc.

That way, when I do it the second time, it's so easy it's almost like i've.... done it.. before.....

4.78 got an awesome price too. Just need to swap in my LSD unit and game on

I also mapped out my RPM/MPH of my old S2 trans with the 3.909 rear vs. the S5 modded trans and 4.777 kia diff and with these combos the S5/Kia combo will have a ripping 1st-4th while keeping cruising speed/rpm within a few hundred RPM of the original S2 trans/diff

I put the urethane in the WATTS linkages but left the soft old rubber in the original

PistonVRotary is the name I believe. High quality metal replicas of all eblems. Not the cheap plastic Mazda used. Very nice details to add to a build.
Shipping was $10. Total out the door for the pair I think was $48 shipped. Arrived at my door in 14 days. Check them out for your emblem needs.

Mounting was easy. They required some modification as I didnt want to drill holes in my precious fenders. On the left side I removed 3 tabs leaving the tab behind the "R" and plugged it into the right factory mount hole centering the emblem with a perfect 5 inches on each side. On the right side I removed 3 tabs leaving the one behind the "7" and plugged it into the right factory mounting hole centering it with a perfect 5 inches on each side. I used a double stick 3m tape of course.

Been daily driving the red GSL-SE the last few days. I have had no problems starting her since I charged the battery and replaced the gas with the good stuff and dumped in a bottle of injector cleaner. It was probably all the fuel. The AC works ok, could probably use a little more refrigerant. Both power window regulators need cleaning and greasing. And I get some rear brake squeal when braking and turning at the same time. All minor things. The downside of driving this is that compared to the GSL-EV it feels gutless. And it is bright red and makes noise and gets attention, both wanted and unwanted. No tickets yet but I did get "The Look" once.

Been doing this since I have the GSL-EV down for some maint before I take it to a DIY-EV show in Missouri early in August. Decided to put the old GSL-SE oil cooler I broke on it as a cooler for the motor control. Kind of need to do this if I am going to autocross it and put it on the 1/8th mile strip. When the motor controller overheats it gradually turns down the power and it does it so gracefully you don't realize that is what is happening. You just sort of realize that something is happening.

I may be going to a local meet tomorrow night after work, so it's time to give her a warm-up & make sure all is well. Time to wake up from your nap, lil' beastie.

RotaryJunkee, I love the EQ...is that a Kenwood 11-band EQ? I had a Kenwood EQ branded "Gathers", found in JDM EF and EG Civics. I loved it. I still get Honda guys asking me to find those for them.

Got my sway bar put in correctly. So much easier this time. But for those of you who have used the RB bar, did y'all notice that the linkage bolt to the control arm seemed a little too short? We ended up cutting off about the length of one of those red bushings that came with it off on both sides. Then we could secure it all down easily.

I found me one yesterday.... Didn't have the funds on me for it, but I'll go back and get it when I do. I did get a SWEET deal on an 85 distributer for my 79 project. Had to charge it, but even with interest it's gonna be about half what others are going for!

That's awesome! I plan on switching over to electronic ignition as well. Trying to sell some parts off first before I spend anymore cash lol

I drove her (best thing to do with your fb)to work and home down the freeway home twisty fun stuff there. Ran pretty good, may need a new power valve. When I was roughly 2 mi from home on my return trip when I let out and shifted to second she popped a few nice bassy fireballs. All in all a nice drive really.

Drove to the BrapLife meet in Covina last night about 10:30, after work. Finally found my favorite seat-adjustment position again, where arms and legs reach just right. Joy. Nice meet too, well-attended.

Sadly, a road crew was sandblasting concrete on the 60 on the way home; blasting TOWARDS the traffic, the ignorant a-holes. No damage, but an abrasive mess to clean up inside and outside, since the SUV in front of me blocked vision just long enough to prevent getting my windows up.

Continued working on the GSL-EV to prep for EV show in Missouri. Decided to add an extra battery. Should give me an additional 4 horsepower at the cost of an additional 7.5 lbs. I wonder if that is a good deal or not? Peak power into the electric motor is now 223 hp.

Gave the GSL-SE a good bath on Saturday morning. Used the Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer on the bumpers and side trim on both cars. Sure makes a difference.

Mr. Ingraham, I always marvel at your project. Without knowing enough about the unknowns, I'd say the weight/power ratio is a good deal.

I washed mine last night, drove it, and today have driven to the Kroger, where even with tired paint she is the handsomest pony in the corral.
Not only that, with the AC on, she starts with a flick of the key and sits right at 600 revs, cooling all the while.
