Looking for advice how to handle an issue with a shop
Or a motor that blows up with no warranty after 100 miles.
With this level of controversy I would have posted any port work, internals, housing condition, clearancing of seals, studs, etc.

I think if you own vargas built anything, you're at risk of failure anytime. Ghetto rigging could let go at any time...

I can confirm that is my engine. I also was there in person when it got ported, resurfaced, and polished and all looked amazing. I know both of these guys do great work and make good engines and this one is hopefully one of those 👍
i’m very pleased to see the block is at last completed. Now to see it installed, able to run, and for me to take home.

This is what happened to my friend they screwed, well... kinda. The younger vargas hurt a fresh built motor when he leaned it out on the dyno by running out of fuel pressure.... which was dumb because the larger fuel pump he was supposed to install was in the passenger seat next to him when it happened. It was at this point the 2 year ordeal started....He then proceeded to send it on like nothing happened and then claim his warranty was void because myself and Elliot of turblown had looked at the tune and logs trying to help the guy when his car ran like **** and vargalargas was nowhere to be found... to say the tune was pure trash would be giving it way too much credit.

Honestly this is just a whole mess with communication and parts suppliers not delivering. Trust me when I say it's not affecting the business one bit. The motor is together and getting all the parts the op supplied put on it. The amount of cars we put out is to be expected to have a few snags here and there.if there's ever a problem we always correct it and move forward.
A few snags here and there? A few communication and supplier problems?
Haha. First post in this thread, OP says he paid in full, cash, for a rebuild, in the year 2017. This thread was started because it's now 2019.
Again, the OP posted for help because the process was started and money left his hand in 2017, and it's 2 years later..... but hey, don't worry, just a few snags.
This is why I learned to work on my own cars. If it's going to sit for 2 years, it's going to be because I'm busy, not because I gave someone my money for them to sit on like a bank.

Weird the owner of that car called to have the car tuned the other day after he broke it in. The past owner of the car ordered a fuel pump himself never installed it and left it on the passenger seat inside a ups bag. He brought the car to get tuned I tuned it and fuel pressure dropped. Took it apart rebuilt it under warranty and he sold it. His car was at the shop for 4 months after he brought it in bins after taking it out of of supercars from his 7 year rebuild before they closed. Point of the story he never installed the fuel pump he ordered, brought the car to get tuned I ate the rebuild the new owner loves it.
Your tune file was total bullshit, as were then other 4 of them I've come to see from people seeking help with their cars that ran like **** after you charged then a huge fee, sent them home and then proceeded to ignore them.
I'll probably get banned for insulting a builder, but **** it. Maybe it will someday save someone else from getting boned by you guys.

Almost the end of the week and i don’t think my car has had it’s first start yet. I just paid its registration and insured it too. Please don’t make me wait too much longer....
MOST! Of these new generation rotary builders on social media are a joke, content is joke, I remember when we use to actually build our rotaries and race! Not just do burnouts, drift around a parking lot or go park at car shows. Don't get me started on the rotary corvette garbage LOL, I'm embarrassed for the guy, good luck keeping up with a built turbo LS
The reality is that there is a small window for a builds success, First, the engine needs to built correctly with quality parts, not 30 year old sanded down rotor housings and expect great results, You need to know how to tune (making changes with your laptop is not tuning, Know what the F your doing before touching anything)

This was very painful to read. Are people really paying 10,000 US for a rebuild? I don't even have the words, honestly. This whole thread is insanity. I would perform seppuku if I were the builder. Absolutely shameful. Be a man.
I'm guessing he was charged for the spacer? Haha.
And the "oof" text on that picture... is that some kind of weird watermark or is that picture actually being used to advertise the business on social media? I would hope not. The picture should be posted on social media with a link to this thread hahaha

I can only speak of my personal experience with AMS. They have helped me with some simple problems for free when I drove up to the shop asking them a quick qeustion. They did a single turbo conversion and tune for me pretty quickly for me for a ridiculously good price and I haven't experienced any problems yet. They also have been providing storage for my car for the last 6 months while i've been PCSing from east to west coast because I have been in school and not at a location I could have my car. I will admit sometimes it can be a little hard to get ahold of Mike, but i'm sure he's busy as he's always working every time I stopped by his shop. I'm fairly confident that if I had a problem and stopped by, he'd be willing to work with me on it to get it resolved. I can't say it's the most organized or professional place i've ever been too, and maybe that's something they should work on but they are genuinely good people and have always been helpful to me.
