Looking for advice how to handle an issue with a shop
Wow
So sad to hear your car is not done. Man this is ridiculous. That shop sucks and the owner is full of excuses. These are the type of shops that we as a community need to stay away from. Some rotary shops are the cause of the rotary car having a bad reputation. They have a bunch of excuses and build crappy engines. They are more of a sales person than a rotary specialist.
Also, john has not confirmed with me that they’ve arrived. In fact he hasn’t reached out to me at all. A buddy of mine showed me in a group chat which he is in with john shows him saying someone else’s studs came in . I need some better communication on your guys part 100% . My part in terms of money is all settled.
I still don't understand why $1400 was needed up front before the guy will do any work. At this point the motor should be built and delivered before any ore funds change hands. Shops tend to work faster when they know they won't get money beyond the initial deposit until they do some work. If they already have the money, they are easily incentivized to focus on the next job that will bring in cash vs the current job that they already have the money for. That's usually why these things drag out for so long.
Payment upon completion......

They need to finish your car already. Man I would never bring my car to that shop. They are pathetic. I encourage no one to bring a car there especially until this car is completed.

That's because shops nowadays have to take money from new work so they can finish old work. It's a giant pyramid scheme now at this point, and when old work needs to be done, they hit up customers for the next payment on their jobs...

Don't over think it he's been waiting on studs that where shipped but weren't. Same as he's dealing with John john is dealing with parts suppliers. Studs finally showed up Friday expect the motor to start getting assembled.

sounds good Mike. Looking forward to being able to take home this fd this week. I have many people interested in being it’s new owner and need it running to do so. This will be my last fd for a while as i no longer want neither the stress or headaches that comes along w owning it and dealing with situations like these. I no longer have and will not make any time to deal w such situations anymore or again.
Great. ANOTHER rotary soul run out of the game by the vargas duo.
Yep. Jose Fuego almost got me out the game but I knew it was a mechanic problem not a rotary problem. I put 108000 miles on my oem engine before the painter took it on a joy ride with an empty tank. I am sure there are many stories just like mine and the OP. Kilo racing rebuilt my engine and I am a happy owner of a mint 93 rx7. I have ownership since 98.
