I just don't react well with false promises and I honestly don't wanna take this out of proportion. Not being happy about not having the parts shipped (not produced, shipped) when or around the time announced right after completion of production I think justifies some kind of complain and expressed unsatisfaction!
You've been an awesome customer to deal with! No doubt about that.

You guys should have emails from USPS tracking #'s They said sometimes it could take a day or so to register, so if you don't have one yet just give it a bit. Sorry again for the shipping wait.

I never thought to put that disclaimer in the instructions.... maybe I should consider it

Just a reminder in case you can't find them...

Addendum

INSTRUCTIONS!

An addendum to the instructions:

A few customers from the last round said the ground lengths on a few of the harnesses were not long enough. To ensure no possible issues this time around, extra length was added, and a protective abrasion-defeating nylon mesh cover. The added ground length now allows the the thin ballasts to be mounted within or underneath the headlight bucket for a cleaner install .

I recommend using the following to mount the ballasts (available at most hardware stores)

(for better adherence, clean mounting surfaces with rubbing alcohol)

printer friendly instructions

I just got mine. I can't put them on until my engine bay is done with the wire tuck and new paint. They look nice though.

I just couldn't wait and had to install them last night. It's so easy I can do it, lol. These not only look great but they are damn amazing for the reason I bought them, HUGE improvement in visibility!

Damn your garage looks like it's a decent size. Did you take the pic with the lights on a few seconds after turning them on?

The garage is open span 32x42, cause supports beams are just annoying, with a 12' ceiling so when the lift goes in you can really put a car in the air. Those were just some pics right after getting them in that I took with my cell phone at 3 in the morning when I finished, lol. I have a anatomy and physiology exam today and drill this weekend but will get some bette pics up as soon as I get a chance. The cut off is so crisp that when driving you can see all the movement of the light bouncing around. Do you think new springs in the fourth corner would help this?

I guess I am not the only one noticing the bounce after all! I mentioned to Heath, checking the adjustment of the rubber stop is important - if it is too loose when the lights are in the up position, the bucket will definitely bounce more. That stop takes out most of the slop in the linkages once they are up. If you do adjust the stop, check your aim afterwards because it may be affected.

But I think that a popup assembly (as opposed to fixed), combined with age (looser linkages), and probably suspension modifications on most FDs, means there will be some bounce. The sharp cutoff really highlights any bounce you are getting. I am going to try putting some closed cell foam rubber blocks behind each screw to see if there is any improvement.

Exactly, you don't see the bounce on standard lights as much because there is no cutoff. Sometimes if the highway isn't the greatest I wonder if one of the springs on the headlight assembly came loose, but then the road flattens and all is good. I don't know if new springs would help, but did you use the spring receiver from your original lights?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this and it really isn't important, just thought I'd throw it out there. Although the h4 conversion housings (reflectors) are crap with HID's that's because they were designed for a halogen bulb. Some cars did come factory equipped with Reflector HID's. However they were specifically designed to work with HID bulbs. Hence the reason for D2s (projector) bulbs and D2r (reflector) bulbs. The D2r's have a shield of some sort on the outside of the bulb itself to help prevent glare. If interested, check out this link for more info: http://www.autolamps-online.com/gasd...techcentre.htm Again, I'm just throwing this out there in case it was not known. And beautiful job on the lights man!

Thanks
Yes I do realize that there were D2R bulbs for reflector housings, but as far as I know the automotive industry has moved past that bandaid and adapted projectors as the new standard. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I remember some of the old Lexus cars had reflector type HID setups as well as some other vehicles.

True. We should have qualified our statement with.... all GOOD oem lighting setups come with projector HID's

Check out the prius, that's a great example of a ****-poor oem reflector HID system

I just finished up helping one of the local guys (Dave) install a set of FD lights, and he was kind enough to let me play with the FC prototype on his turbo FC as well . So, I've been using a dremel with a cutoff wheel this whole time to modify the buckets as there is little to no debris/dust to clean up after... but we got frustrated with the slow pace and breaking wheel after wheel so we decided to try the drill-type cutting spindle. While it did throw more debris around and make a bigger mess, it went 1000x faster.. so throw some towels down around the cutting area and rock one of these guys on your dremel for a faster and easier time modifying the buckets

I'll post up a few pics of our day on friday. It's nice to get to meet all the local guys... I forget how many FD's we have in CA, let alone the huge numbers in the bay area alone!!!

So for all intents and purposes the last GB is finished, but lets see some more pics of the installed lights on your rides . Here is the current (GB#2) list. :

We're gonna run this second GB list for another two weeks and then close/finalize the GB as everyone signed up here has been waiting for awhile. This will be the last GB we will be running on these lights for some time and I can't say for sure when we'll be making another batch, as we have many other parts we would like to move on to.

Get 'em before you can't
