The Philips bulbs are the 85122+ D2S model, I'm not really sure of the cheapest place to purchase them. If you ever need a new pair of bulbs we could always get them for you The bulbs are rated with a 2500 + hour life.

Currently there is no aftermarket optically clear glass lens that we know of for the 3rd gen Rx-7, so these lenses are actually made out of plastic.

Are you talking about the very outer most lens on the headlight? Or the sphere thing the actual headlight is behind? Both?

I'm a bit confused about the setup.

If I'm driving with these and a rock or whatever breaks the outer most lens, am I replacing a stock Mazda part or something you guys/girl sending me?

I don't think I've ever looked at my headlights before.

 

Yeah the spherical part of the projector itself is also called the lens so it's a little confusing, lets just say projector lens and housing lens. The housing lens is plastic, and wont shatter if it gets hit by a rock. That protects the projector lens. The housing lens (and the housing) is made by SONAR, and if something were to happen to the lens, replacements are available. -Heath

 

how much are the replacement bulbs from you?

 

Well they are the standard OEM Philips 35w d2s bulb used on nearly every car from Mercedes to Infinity to Jaguar. They are readily available as this bulb is the OEM standard. I can look into the bulb replacement cost but these are rated at 2500+ hours i believe... you won't have to think about replacements for a long long time. It should be under $80 a set.
