13.7's @ 98mph
stock tires, poor mans nonsequentials, airbox mod, dp, "HF" 3" cat, 3" exhaust, un-tuned pfc @10lbs (streetport?)

are aftermarket intakes & block off plates really worth a full second?

no. i'd say your car probably isnt quite up to par since you only trapped 98mph. i trapped 11mph faster with the same mods (except for the full non-sequential)...

i'd go to the dyno and see what kind of power your car is making. do some troubleshooting or something, because bone STOCK FDs usually trapped over 100.
with intake/full exhaust running correctly it should trap at least 106-107mph

it looks like you were .24 seconds slower to 60', not sure where you got .11??? 1.79 vs 2.03(the better of the two 60ft's on the time slips you posted)

i'd say the 60foot time isnt the problem. i'd be more concerned with the trap speed than the ET:
by the end of the 1/8th my car was traveling 9mph faster and by the end of the 1/4 my car was traveling 12mph faster, which is a huge difference. so your car is probably down on power -alot.

I think it was late, that's the only excuse i can offer anyway. And how do i diagnose this problem? i doubt a dyno will do it.

ummm...how the hell would a dyno not identify if a problem exists or not. See if u are down on power first. which i think u are.

I'm not saying that the dyno won't determine whether there is a problem, i'm wondering what it will tell me other than "there's a problem"

I can tell sometimes that my car is running like crap. The tone of the engine is different- to me anyway. I also notice a difference on the seat of the pants dyno. That still doesn't tell me what the problem *is*.

I ran 12.7 @ 112 at Calder Park in Melbourne, Aust. Couldn't break 2.0 sec 60's. Putting that down to crappy tyres and lack of practice. Should be good for a low 12 when I get it sorted.

are u sure ur car is only making 265 rwhp? a 110-111 mph trap is more indicative of 300rwhp. were u gettign more than 10psi maybe?
nice pass.....especially short time! you should be proud of it.

i am running 10psi. it spikes to 11 for a split second and holds 10 all the way to redline. if it were holding more than 10.5psi it would be hitting fuel cut

I think i saw in a thread that his car is pretty light for an fd.. that could have something to do with it.

how are u launching the car? once u get above maybe 300rwhp its damn near imposible to hook up with regular street tires if u are launching the car. i ran the same et with 285 vs 360 rwhp however the trap went from 110 to 118mph. kind of annoying. thats why u need to run the proper tire when drag racing otherwise forget it.

i'd say the 60foot time isnt the problem. i'd be more concerned with the trap speed than the ET:
Short time is just about everything in 1/4 drag racing. GENERALLY speaking they say .1 off your sixty foot time is .2 up top. therefore his difference of .24 on the short time is about a half second up top.

but yes i agree about the trap speed that definately is concerning to me. his trap speed is low....point blank. which is making me thiunk he is down on power. while on the subject your mph seems damn high for 265 rwhp. i;de be willing to bet you're making more power than that. however your car is pretty light. mayube that accounts for some of the difference not all though. how did u lighten the car? do u sunroof and leather? my car weighed 2735 with spare and 1/4 tank of gas but is a PEP model. would love to drop those 75lbs.

I hit the track tonite. It was 3,000ft above sea level with some shitty tarmack. I got 13.8 at 106.36. Mods in my sig. I was hoping for low 13s at that track which would equal high/mid 12's at sea level.

I did really bad tho launching with 2.58 60ft. Tires wouldnt sick for some reason. Tried low RPM, Mid RPM, feathering, dumping. I gave up at the end. People were asking me if my car was stock......

would lower 60ft times result in higher MPH? I found that for 3,000ft about sea level you mph by 1.3. So its appx 109. Still too low.
