California Speedway. Auto drag

Finally got to drag the 7 today. It was really hot outstide. 90s easy. Air temps were 50's. Best time I got was 12.9 @ 111.5 my 60ft was 2.175.
I feathers/dropped clutch at 5K rpm and didnt feel like a good launch but it was the best I managed to get. I need stickier tires.

Wow, your trap is really high. How much power does your car make to the wheels. Good job I was at CA Speedway that same day to watch the time attack racing if I would have known you were over at the drags I would have come over to video.

Im making about 325-330whp, but with the outside temps it felt more like 300whp lol. I herd the cars over at the time attack, some sounded sickk.

Im def going to go back in the fall when the temps fall down a bit and try to get deeper in the 12's.

Just went back to the track this past Saturday. Best run was a 12.25 @ 119 mph.

I was on Nitto NT 555 street tires, and for whatever reason can't figure out how to launch the car worth a sh*t. I've tried staging at 5500 and dumping the clutch...car bogs...Tried staging at 5500 and feathering the clutch out...Either rips the tires off the back of the car or bogs...

Staging at 6500 and feathering the clutch to the point where it's just barely in boost seemed to yield the best results...Then I wouldn't bog or spin (would spin slightly, but not bad). However, even when it felt like I flew out of the hole (and actually WAS side by side with a DSM that cut a 1.70 60', I still only cut a 2.20 60' ... Was side by side because I had a better R/T). I dunno...I guess I just need DRs.

I know the car's got a faster time in it....Made 380 RWHP on a 98 degree day. On a cooler day it should be closer to 390 RWHP. In any case, I was pretty happy with how the car performed. Needless to say, if my dumb *** could have cut a quicker 60' I would've been into the 11's easy.

I will post the video once it's uploaded.

Oh, and I did beat the aforementioned DSM. He ran a 12.44 @ 115 mph.

nice man soon you will be in the 11's, I got my car tuned by steve made 317 rwhp on a dyno dynamics @14psi so I am probably making similar numbers on a dyno jet(hope so anyways) What psi was your run at?

I want to go down to the track but am scared I will break my diff or something and I need some good tires. Good luck with making it to the 11's

Thanks man. Car's running at 15 psi right now with a street port, and tuned by Dave @ KDR.

I'm not too worried about breaking the rear diff as of right now...Not until I get some real sticky tires.

Good tires and lots of practice and you will be in the low 11's, possibly tens if you are real good. I only made 343 on a dyno but did 11.19

Ran a 13.2@109 over the weekend with a best 60' of 2.2 (really need tires...) on a PFC, stock IC, intakes, exhaust (with high flow cat), and an upgraded pump.

I ended up on my own on a straight road at a red light early this morning so thought I would hit the go buttong on the Gtech Pro and got the following numbers. It was on a crap chip road with my suspention tuned for the circuit and only crap 235s.

60ft - 2.695
330ft - 6.479
1/8th - 9.345 @ 90.7 mph
1000ft - 11.788
1/4 - 14.088 @ 85.75
0-60 - 5.436

I had to break hard just before the 1000ft mark (car pulled out) but was wondering what I should expect over a full power quarter with a better start. The 8th MPH is looking like its capable of a mid to low 12??

90 mph is real good. For comparison, in two runs the other day i was doing 91 mph 7.4 sec. and did 11.5 @ 119 , but thats with a good 1.58 60ft. im guessing you could do low 12s at least with a real good start at the track.

^^^^ I take it your using drag radials with those 60fts??

My plan for the car is to run it as it is on the street. I drive it to the circuit, onto the circuit and around the circuit without changing a thing!!!!!! Full stereo included!!!!Goal is to run a respectable time at our local superlap with the stereo playing Id like to do the same at the strip. I want to know what the car can do on the road if I had to.

I have a friend thats running the same times as the open wheeler toyota racing series cars here in NZ as well as 10s at the strip in his Evo2 as it rus on the road and I like the sound of that!

Nice trap, how much whp/wtq you put down? Didn't see your dyno chart in the dyno graphs section...
