Well I've got some 225/45 on my XXRs so I was gonna just swap em over if I sell the xxrs.

 

What about 16x8 +0 with 20mm or 25mm fenders in the front and 30mm/50mm in the rear?

Recommendations are fine and all, but they don't help if they don't mention the size I'm looking for. The wheel only come in a +0 offset...

 

Imo, 16x8's is way to small for a wide body. You would be limited to a 245/45 tire, which the selection for that size sucks anyways.

I'd run at least a 17x9 up front, and maybe a 17x10 in back if you want a staggered setup.

on a stock body I have STANCE AL PRO+ Coilovers and the MMR rear camber kit.

I know the front is going to be tight.

I looked through a bunch of pages and did not see this combo.

stretching is OK.. looking to have the car really low... not retarded low -but low.

 

215/40 or 45 front - 225/40 rear

205/45 works in front too.

Front will clear without a spacer.

Anyone who have fitted 17 x 9,5 +30 up front with stock fender?

 

+30 will hit the suspension, regardless if it's aftermarket or stock. You need wider front fenders to fit 17x9.5, and like a +15 offset.

 

so after skimming 40 pages of question and pictures, i just have even more questions. i just love it when that happens. i hate being a "noob" with new cars.

im looking for an affordable tire that will give me the most contact patch and traction. i know.. pick two but you cant have all three, but damnit thats what i want. im going to be running a 16inch wheel (unless i can truly get better performance out of a 17inch), i like meater tires and i want less corner weight thats traditional with larger wheels. rolling fenders is not an issue for maximum tire clearance but mexipoke is, i refuse to do that with and have stretched tires.

so what do you gents think would fit the requirements?

I'm thinking falken azenis rt-615 would fit the bill, but it's a summer tire only and would require to get a set of winters.

Me, for example, I run Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R in the summer and Bridgestone Blizzak REVO 1 in the winter.

 

25mm fronts would be close for a 0 offset. Might not be wide enough but you could prolly pull it a little to make it fit depending on the material its made of.

I don't know what the max pull on front fenders are but i have 16x8 0 offset and am about of a 1/4in short, i think a bigger bat will get it for me though.

 

What wheels are you running.

wanna see it on any 17x9 17x10 wheels though... just to get an idea of the sidewall. Not lookin to go too gangsta I'm still driving on NJ roads...

It will fit.

I'm running 17X9 +24 with 235/40/17 tires in front. You will have 2mm more strut clearance than me. My wheels and tires fit fine with a simple baseball bat fender roll. I don't even have coilovers yet, and have basically 0 camber. I get just a hair of tire rub on high speed compression (freeway dips, etc.)

With a bit of negative camber you won't have any issues.

 

I was looking at those for my Cobra. They are a really nice set of wheels.


I'd run 235/40/17s in front and 275/40/17s in back. Running 215s on 9s is stupid.
I can take some pictures of my fronts if that will help.

I need to do a stretch... prob go 215 or 225/40 in the front and 245/40 om the rear. I want the rear small because I'm NA and will be drifting. After the LS1 swap I'll go 275/40 in the rear

 

I need some advice. I'm days away from ordering new custom track wheels and I'm not 100% sure on what offset to get (I can specify ANY offset, these are truly custom). I'll be getting 15x9's to go with 225/50/15 or 225/45/15 tires. I'd like to get them as close to the suspension as possible without rubbing and I'd like to avoid using spacers if possible, but I'd rather have them be a bit too close than too far away. I've got Tein Flex coilovers.

So any guidance based on 16" or 17" wheels in those widths with 225 wide tires would be good (I don't think anyone's tried this with an FC yet with 15's).

 

I feel your pain. I am still NA. I have 245/45 in the back on a 17X9 in wheel. I would like to go to 235/40 all around.

 

I think you will want to run a 15X9 in the +20 to +25 range, depending on the aspect ration you choose

 

I'd been thinking 25mm and possibly use a spacer if needed, but I'd rather avoid spacers if possible, these are custom wheels after all. Maybe I'll just go with a 20mm and roll the fenders. I've got half used 225/50/15's now, but in the future I'll be running 225/45/15's.
