If you are on stock style springs you will need a spacer up front.

If on coilovers that is perfect fitment ^^

so much 17+ inch info. i searched but couldnt really find an answer.
i have stock style non coilover suspension, and i want some wide 16" rims for competition.
thinking of 16x8 +25ish? all around, with the fenders rolled. i guess i should err on the high offset side and use spacers if needed, but what will fit? tires will most likely be 225/50s.

More or less the offset required is independant of wheel diameter. Besides, going from 17" to 16" we're talking about a 1/2" difference in radius, that's not going to change much. You may get a slight difference on the extreme edge closest to the suspension due to the strut's angle, but you should be able to get a lot closer to the strut than that. 30mm should work without needing a fender roll.

If you want 225 wide tires for competition, I'd strongly reccomend 15x8's and 225/45/15's since it gets the car lower for better handling and grip and it gives you a gearing advantage. If your tire of choice doesn't come in that size, then 225/50/15 is ok too. If you insist on 16's, try to find a 225/45/16.

i guess i could get 15s. i just instinctively go for the same O.D. tire as stock but i guess thats not a big deal. plus 225/50/16 is a common size for tires.

hmmm though hankook ventus rs2 comes in 225/45/15. i guess i wouldnt mind rocking those. my car is just gonna be a once in a while weekend warrior for now until i can afford to get a DD.

I figured when you said competition you were looking for race tires that don't see street use. For a single set of wheels and tires that'll see mostly street use, you'll be better off with approximately stock diameter, so 225/50/16's would be suitable. Also consider 17x8's and 225/45/17's, as there's more selection in that tire size. You can get 17x8 Mustang GT wheels for cheap that'll fit almost perfectly (you may need to get longer studs or "ET" style lug nuts to get enough thread engagement, other than that they fit perfectly).

naw you were half right. it might see some light competition but it will be on rims that probably wont see the street a whole lot either. im just not baller enough to shell out over 200 bucks a tire for A6s or R1s and have em last a lot shorter.

Would these work on a 90 vert with a stock suspension?
18x9 +41 in front, and 18x10 +42 in the rear
Looking to buy some wheels with these sizes. Thanks

Does any body know if the 18x8+20 will fit up front without overfender? If so should I run a stretched tire?

What would sit perfect in the front? 17x8 +27? I'm getting some ssr sp1's hopefully this summer and planning on getting gr+ pro coilovers. I heard of shika805 fitting 17x9 +35 with coils. Honestly, I have no idea how he made that fit because that's damn near impossible especially with coils. I mean right now I have 17x8 sportmax 006 +35 and I can fit my pinky finger in between the wheel and the suspension.. Not to mention that's on stock suspension. I have decided for sure on 18x10 +24 rears.

Some coilovers give you LESS space for tire/wheel clearance over stock springs, and some give you MORE space over stock suspension for more tire/wheel room. JIC for example gives more room over stock coils.

got some wheels i want to try to put on the car.. 90 vert

front 16x7 +18
rear 16x8 =0

if they will work i was thinking 205/55 in the rear, and either 185/60 or 195/55 in the front. will they work, will i need spacers, or am i having a delusion? also are my tire sizes good, trying to keep close to stock, for speedo accuracy. i do not have any modifications on the car, nor do i race it...

thanks to anyone who wants to answer me... i will let on what wheels they are if they will work out, but not if they are farfetched...

tried weeding trough all of these posts, but in the end, most people are asking about way different sizes than i am looking at.

other good info that i thought would be on the first page or two of this thread is - what is the stock offsets and sizes for the FC? i think the wheels are 15x6 on mine, but not sure of the offsets...

Unless you want you want drifto hella flush wheel fitment, you'll want to run more offset. Try to stay closer to +30mm offset, and then you won't have to roll the fenders, stretch tires, or run lots of camber.

Maybe it is the fact that there is no fuel tank and the rear bumper is cut to follow the line of the over size fenders. Guess those details are over looked. Car looks badass BL. Hope to see it when I'm back in town slaying RBs.

tick polluter cam package, fast 92/92, trick flow heads, 200 shot wet, full weldon -12 fuel system, ls6 bottom end, t56, wheel speed mapped progressive nitrous control, cut everything out of it. Weighed 2470 at corner balance and alignment before i took 5 55 gallon garbage cans of blower motors, wiring, dash, bolts, seats, brackets, fuel tank.... out of it.. Id say its around or under one metric ton with driver and makes around 700whp and 650 ft lbs of torque .

building manifolds now though... Going iron block lsx with 458 ci rotating assembly and big bore et heads, and gt42. then shooting for making it shake the tires off at 140 and make 4 digit torque #s at under 1 ton. maybe toss a 3:08 gear in the rear end so i can race 1 liter bikes 20-180, haha

heres an old shot of the turbo with internally wastegated exh housing thats been replaced, in there to give you an idea on size.. Ill have to toss the fast intake for a edelbrock victor jr though cause the polymer intakes wont hold more than 15 psi.

Car is in process of going to solid axle rear end with detroit locker and built th400 so the pics are kinda old. If i can sell my VIP acura tl, ill prolly be back halving it and tubbing it out. It should be done for this summer with a th400 and the boltons/nitrous though..

heres the tl if you know anyone interested.. haha

back to the fitment thread tho, my bad....
