I don't think they're attacking you, rather they're just pointing out that the majority of racers don't stretch or run low offset for a very good reason. What you gain in response and grip due to track increase, you lose in compliance and tramlining on imperfect roads. For instance, at Lime Rock Park, running such a setup will have your *** out in inopportune locations, due to the bumpiness and the concrete asphalt transitions midcorner.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
It's like you owning a bone stock wrangler and saying that becuase you know how to drive it around town, you obviously know how to outfit as a rock crawling rig.
Or saying that because you have a little cash in your pocket you're obviously experienced enough to manage multi-million dollar portfolio's.
Or becuase you can row a boat you should be allowed to race 1000+ hp 120+mph OPT boats
Or becuase you know how to work a MIG you should be given the opportunity to fabricate a full blown tube frame chassis
Or maybe you can spin a lug nut and therefore you should be on a pit a crew
Perhaps you have the ability to annoy people on a forum, and ...... oh wait

I am not meaning to attack you Tatakai (he he, there is a pun in there somewhere :P).
I was responding to this quote:
The reason being is that most RX-7 owners don't drift.
I understand that drifting is fun. You understand that racing is fun. That is why we do it to have fun.

i wish more rx7 owners would run offsets lower than a billion.

Ian, are you running the same 17x9.5 +40 upfront with a 275 and no mods to the fenders?
Damn, that thing must grip like a bejeezus
For a 225 you would want to run a 8" rim

I'm still getting used to the new setup, but damn, I would never go back to smaller tires!
Without Blue TII's fitment thread, I would not have gotten 255's under factory metal. You have my thanks for that!

235 on a +30 0ffset up front will either need more than stock -1 degree of camber up front or to roll that fender arch lip under.
275 will require a +40 offset not +35 or more than -1 deg negative camber or rolling the rear fender arch lip up.
275 is getting wide for a 9" rim. OK for drag racing.
Huge stagger like 225 front/265 rear or 235 front/275 rear is really going to give you a lot of understeer. Again, OK for drag racing.
I would advise 235 on those 8" wide +30 up front and 255on the 9" wide +35 in the rear. Just roll the lip under at the top of the front wheel arch.
