TX Almost...................

...............there. We were working on my bro's 1st gen and almost have her up and running perfect. He just made a quick call to chuck to diagnose what the problem is now we know how to fix it. We should be done tomorrow I don't know if he is willing to drive without stickers though it is up to him :P He will chime in with more info on what we did today.

AHA! so today i mustered up the cash and bought anew fuel pump, FPR, lines, filters, all that good stuff slapped it on and Voila! i have some minor adjustments to be made but for now shes running and driving. pretty well. but without stickers i wont make it to freebirds in traffic? nah. but the next one for sure. my next issue is the passenger rear brake is locking up. and is now oozing fluid. so thats kind of weird but ive been meaning to fix the brakes before i get on the road anyway so ill look into that a little bit later. right now make it go then maybe stop lol

haha...just now spotted this thread. Good story, great buy. She looks as clean as mine and I paid 7 times what you did. I thought my car was in great shape, and the previous owner did a lot(new plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, all new brakes, pads, shoes, rotors, drums, wheel cylinders, new shocks, struts, sway bar links, new coolant, trans and diff fluids, new drive belts, new oil cooler o-rings) but 3 months of owning her, and I have already replaced:
Idler arm
Tie-rods
Hatch Struts
Clutch Slave cylinder just blew out two days ago
also stuff I upgraded or added:
New stereo and complete rewire
MSD Coils
K&N Air filter
Bled the brakes(Previous owner's brake job left a really mushy pedal)
Tinted the windows
Recharged the A/C(blows real cold)
New door seals, and belt mouldings

All that and I really haven't started modding her the way I want to yet. I need to swap out the suspension for the GSL-SE stuff and upgrade the springs and shocks, do all new bushings, brakes lines, upgrade the master cylinder, new wheels and tires, get a better carb setup, full exhaust, etc. It never ends. I can understand how these cars tend to suck the money out of your wallet, but I wouldn't have it any other way. With all that I'm looking for another one....hahah

well as of now i got it all hooked up correct and it seems to be running worse than yesturday. sputtering dying out when accelerating. but i havent taken it on the road yet because im the only one home and im not pushing it by myself. LOL so to be continued........ on another positive note the filters are staying really clean now! so no more rust! YAY!!!

Thread ressurection time

Well progress.... if thats what you want to call it. bought a new carter inline fuel pump, filters, holly regulator. the pump is good. but not pulling the gas from the tank, worked out of an old water bottle, and made it to the front and the car ran fine, but when i hook it up to the tank and nothing.

i checked the lines and YES it is the right one, just puzzled, maybe its clogged but im really dreading dropping the gas tank for the forth time.

especially with the 7 gallons that are now in it. who wants to help? beers on me lol
