My very own Blue Lawn Ornament!

Hi, I'm Angel for those that haven't met me, guess that's quite a few really. Anyways, I'm a new second gen owner in the Houston area, Wanted to post a pic and give thanks .

We went to pick it up last week, thanks to Ben for spotting it and letting us know, and a big thank you to Scott for letting me keep it at his house. The car is mostly complete, John picked up a transmission and drive shaft for me yesterday, and I think the last major thing I need is exhaust, after that it's mostly little things. Hopefully get it back together and on the road soon. BTW, I meant to pose leaning on the car lightly, but the hand behind the head was just me slapping off a mosquito. After living in AZ and CA for a while I'd forgotten about mosquitos! :P

Well Angel's workin' all evening so I'll answer. We were looking for a first gen cause we figured it'd be closer to her price range but then Ben found this second gen for a nice price. The car is mostly complete and I think it's going to turn out to be a good little project. Oh, and it's an '88 with ~76k on the odo.

Hey everybody Sorry I haven't been on lately, I stay fairly busy most of the time. Thank you for all the welcomes. I'm glad to be here Big THANKS again to Scott, I heard how he humped my transmission into place and thanks again to Anthony and Ben for helping! I heard there was good times had, and I kinda wish I'd been there, but I know it wouldn't have been the same for the guys.

Work sucks lol. Hopefully if we can find everything for your FC she will be ready before the next meet. You thought of a name yet? I know it is corny but I like to give my cars names :P

Haven't really thought of naming her o.o but I have decided her gender. If anything I would name her Cornflower because her paint color reminds me of the crayola crayon color. But If I ever forget her name, she'll prolly just go by Dark Blue Car since John already has a Blue Car. We go by functional names a lot around here. :P I really hope we can get her up and running soon seeing as how the red car is out of commission. Which btw, I was really upset about. I <3 that car so much.

See... Red car, blue car... lol

Something is odd about that car. It's an 87 or 88 right? I don't believe there was a dark blue paint for those year models. Has it been repainted?

at a closer glance Scott noticed it was repainted you can barely tell though. Who ever did it took their time.

John told me no more beer until the transmission was stabbed. What can I say? I was INSPIRED!

I think the car was originally the darker S4 blue color and they repainted it at some time. I used to have a couple 86's that were that color.

Hey - if you ever need a paint job - I can hook ya up. We painted this gem under a tree. Once you pick the leaves and mosquitos out of the paint - it looks pretty good! Might even be able to hook ya up with a custom exhaust!

That's the thing, there isn't a dark blue S4 color. The only blue I can find is the 5A (Sapphire Blue) Brave Blue didn't show up until the S5.

So it looks like mine might have actually been Harbor Blue 5D, but that was an S5 color and my car had not been (fully repainted). Is it possible I had a 88 chassis with 89 paint?

5A on another S4 Vert.

Its always been my opinion that Saphire Blue is very similar to Harbor Blue except that Saphire Blue seems to be more of a grayish color and Harbor Blue is a little brighter.
