Some uninstalled pics of my 500r and other mods being bolted on
Tip looks great where it is!
Rich, pm/im me the cleaning process you use on your Fikses. Do yours have the clear coated spokes? You have given me motivation to clean mine. Tires on the back...look like what I had (for about 2500 miles): Nitto Extremes?
Sound is great! I think Sean designed a "spot-on" system!

For tires, I have BFG G force KDs in 275/40/17 on the back.
As far as the exhaust, it sounds mean as hell when I let her rip....only revved to about 6k so far, but it definitely sounds like the car means business, lol

Is it that quiet or was that a bad recording? How is it at 3k rpm cruise on the freeway? Was it cold or all the smoke was becasue of no cat installed?

The smoke was fuel, the car needs tuning. I haven't had a cat since 2001, so I'm used to seeing crap come out of my tailpipe
.I made some short pulls today (like 3k to 6k rpms in 2nd gear) with the boost controller off (12 psi spring) and saw 15 psi by about 3700 rpm. Car definitely boosts more quickly than on the old setup, and it's really pulling by the time I upshift at 6k rpm. The exhaust note really sounds good at WOT, deep and mean
I spent some time cleaning up the wiring in the engine bay with electrical tape and wire loom, so snapped a fresh pic of the engine bay. I also took a shot of the IR Performance official mascot, David the Dog. He turned 7 yesterday

sounds pretty awesome! the exhaust doesn't sounds any more raw than clips of any other turbo rotary with 3-inches, so i guess the extra inch diameter only makes a difference with flow upstairs, but no undue noise penalty. SWEET!
the car is a beauty. you should be very proud.

THX, you seem to have deleted the coolant filler neck and replaced with straight lines to the radiator. Could you please explain why? Was it about the deletion of the ASt system?
I'm debating the AST deletion but I'm looking at different options about how to do so.

I have the AST delete. It's a second gen part that can only be used with a 2 piece filler neck. It just bolts right on. You run the thin coolant hose from the rad to the bottom (metal) nipple, and the overflow hose to the top (plastic) nipple.
Looks like your only using one nipple on your 3rdgenrx7.com collar
between the filter and the turbo?
Did you cap the other nipple? What do you have hooked up?
Are you not running oil metering?
Project looks great!

I'm running oil metering---that hose you see goes from the omp injectors to the compressor cover---i drilled and tapped a hole with a 1/8 npt nipple.
Unfortunately I can't run your collar, b/c the turbo sits so close to the rad, there isnt any room for it. Hell, there's barely any room for an air filter, lol.

.I had the car out today, and after richening up the map decided to rip on it a bit.
Going WOT in 2nd/3rd gear at 3000 rpms, I see 15-16 psi by 3600-3700 rpms. Also, cruising in 5th at 3000, I see 15 psi by 3500 rpms. The entire powerband feels strong as hell. With my new setup (vs my old one) I have also moved to a GZ LIM and 4 inch full exhaust, so I'm not slamming on the BNRs in any way. However, the car feels like it really might be making 450 to the ground at 15 psi, based on my old setup making 390 rwhp at that boost level.
I took my dad out on the highway---he owns a 290 rwhp FD and has ridden in/driven my FD through all it's iterations, and he basically said 'I didn't think these cars could be this fast on pump gas boost levels'

My sticky 275 width BFG G force KDs in the back have trouble keeping traction all through 2nd gear......getting abbreviated wheel spin at 70 mph takes some getting used to, lol
