Mods (ernie t, whoever) can you please delete the last 4 posts? Thanks.
Trying to keep the thread ON TOPIC, I got my turbine housing back from the machine shop today. They faced it, and told me that it was a little uneven, thus most likely the cause of my exhaust leak.

Hey guys,
the turbo is back together......sweet lord, that turbine is NOT fun to put back together and clock correctly so that you are able to tighten the turbine bolts and then have all the oil/coolant connections in the proper orientation. It was like a jigsaw puzzle, sean wasn't kidding when he said it's difficult with the 1.06. Anyone looking at this turbo in the future, if you have the turbine taken off to be ceramic coated, I recommend having the flange faced before coating, while it's seperated.
The turbo definitely sits on the manifold better, now we just have to get everything hooked up and fire her up. If there's still an exhaust leak I think I may lose my marbles

Sean, I've been told that with a tubular manifold and a v-band on the dp, I will most likely have a bit of a ticking sound under the hood, even under the best circumstances. Any truth to this?

Hey Rich...
This is a great upgrade and a good documentation of this 500r install and review...
On another note...
How about you post some Christmas pics of your new turbo with some Christmas garland on it or some Christmas lights on the downpipe or something... Better yet, a picture of you kissing the 500r turbo under some mistletoe...

OK, drove the car on the street today for the first time
IC piping and couplers and the damn exhaust leak were the things holding me up. The leak ended up definitely being the turbine flange, so if anybody is at fault on this one it's Garrett. There's still some audible ticking under the hood, but it appears to be coming from the manifold itself, and I've seen this with other single setups as well, mainly due to the v-band dp and tubular manifold.
I'm running a temporary map courtesy of my bud chris carlisi, and the response/boost is pretty good. I'm not driving it hard at all, and am going to avoid really opening her up until JD can tune her. More pics to come soon

Pics! I still need to get the matching ic coupler for the greddy elbow, and I'm not really happy with all the bends on the hot side of the ic. I'll eventually remove the fmic, and have the inlet reclocked to get a straight shot as suggested by chuck and kyle.
