Pathetic timeslip

Ok, so, I finally got to the track with my newly T-78'd '93. Remember, it's also been newly converted from auto to manual.

My ET was so high it's too embarassing to post. I only got a chance to do one pass (which is probably why I'm frustrated with this single bad slip... I KNOW the car is capable of a LOT more...), because my running lights are out for some reason.

I haven't had a chance to get on the dyno yet, so I don't know the specific power band for the car anymore.

Where are other T-78 users shifting? Just, what RPM are you hitting in each gear before shifting? And what gear are you through the trap in?

Thanks.

I was just wondering who did all the work on the car. What was your 60ft time? How much boost were you running? Please list all your mods. Thanks !

Reaction: 1.6741
60 foot : 2.5615
1/4 ET : 14.3708
1/4 mph : 100.20

Like I said, just sad. I bogged off the line because I've still got the stock diff and I'm on Nittos, so I wanted zero wheel hop. I overrevved first, bounced off the rev limiter in second, and shifted to 4th too early (Or, at all... I'm still trying to figure out if I should cross in 3rd or 4th.), and too slowly.

No dyno tuning because the computer is just straight from SR, tuned with one of their library of maps. I know it's real rich, and I need to get to a dyno and lean it out a bit, but I haven't had a chance.

That's a 10 psi, with all the mods you'd expect a T-78 car to have.

I think I just need more track time.

Goblin,
You should be nearing the end of 4th with a T-78! Keep in mind that at 10 psi, the T-78 isn't anywhere near its efficient range. Get it tuned and bump it up to 15-17 psi minimum.

Well... At 10PSI, as posted earlier.. That Tubo isn't anywhere near normal operating range. Look at the compressor maps listed on the turbonetics site for that turbo.
I would think that turbo is hardly running.. it would be like driving in traffic at 25mph in 5th gear. Boggy. It needs to spin up more, and be developing some boost to work better.
Unless that thing is monster-ported or running REALLY low compression, that may be too much turbo for that low of boost.
As earlier, you may want to consider upping it 5-8 lbs, if the computer can handle it.... And the motor is built for it..

Hmmmm...

Alright, that's interesting.

The computer and fuel system (pfc, 1300cc, pump, arrfpr) can handle it, but I'm still on the stock engine (seals and ports). I guess that'll be next on the list after I get the diff addressed, then.

Thanks for the information, guys.
