Got it Tuned

I got my car tuned a couple weeks ago, With Jason and Zavior of the RX7Store Tuning it, it put down 487 RWHP at around 7300RPM's, 364 TQ, with 18 LBS Boost. It was on 93 octane. Ill post the dyno sheet soon as i can as well. I plan on getting a meth kit soon so i can up the boost. im running a Billet PT6765 with a .75/.96 AR...im working on making a video to post of my dyno runs and a walk around of the car ideling and such. It feels good to be able to get on it finally, and It gets down like a Mother!

Can you post all your mods? It would be real interesting to see a car do a back to back.
Here is as close as I could find in a regular To4R, 449rwhp/364rwtq @ 18psi, turning around the same RPMS.
This however is a stock ported t2 engine. The torque is about the same, yet you have a few more ponies up top.
Looking forward to your dyno sheet.

What does Jason have to say?

"487 RWHP at around 7300RPM's, 364 TQ, with 18 LBS Boost"

is that SAE or Standard?

if it is Standard, it is 475 SAE which is the language that we all speak.

not knocking anything but let's all speak the same language.

further, it would be great to see the dyno sheet as hp under the curve wins races if anyone cares, especially w the wide spread between gears in out trans.

"Actual Horsepower"

generally, "actual hp" is uncorrected hp. it is exactly what the dyno reads w no correction for temperature, humidity or pressure. as such, actual hp can be anything depending on the conditions.

depending on temperature, pressure and humidity you could be making more or less than
487.

in a perfect world all tuners would use the same correction method whether it be SAE or Standard. the overwhelming choice has been SAE. Standard adds 2.55% to SAE. an easy way to gain hp versus the competition. all the operator has to do is select SAE and push "enter."

again, i am not knocking you or the operator and do look forward to the thread continuing to develop.

Ahh, sounds good. i will post my sheets soon, i have a hand full of papers from the dyno, i have a text sheet that only shows numbers like a chart that includes rpm, power, torque, boost, and air fuel. it was for a run of 485 wrhp and 364 torque, i have a dyno graph that was for a 482 rwhp and 353 torque, i called the guy at the dyno shop and he is going to send me my other couple sheets, i must have just not paid attention and grabbed the wrong ones when i was leaving. So ill have them up soon(hopefully a couple days). Ill post the graph and the RPM chart... Hope he just emails them to me so i dont gotta mess with hooking my scanner up!

Should have it back on the car this week.

50hp gain at 10psi? 100hp at 20psi? I'll believe it when I see it, so far they have shown no major increase of the significance at lower pressure ratios. Only slight if any gain, with decent increases in power at higher pressures. Not saying it's not possible just not seeing it yet on the customers we've sold them to. Maybe you'll be the first.

Not to mention the larger the inducers, the less of a difference the billet aero seems to make, since the small gain in surface area is less relevant.

They might be talking in piston power since thats what everyone talks in. Garrett's tests have shown that with their new aero design on the 42r & 45r billet turbo's of the same size, they have a ~10% improvement in flow.

If you were making 500 rwhp @ 10 psi on some piston motor (or even a 3 rotor could do this probably) with that giant PT-76, a 10% gain in flow would equate to an extra 50 rwhp. Doesn't sound that far fetched.

If its actually doing that or not though is yet to be proven.

doing some road coarse testing with my 6765 this weekend. I must say i LOVE this turbo. I used to run a gt4082 and will not be switching back

Little background here on the engine. I am using S4 rotating assemble on what is otherwise a S5 jspec engine that is studded. I am currently tuned on 17 lbs on 93 pump with no water. the car sees full boost by 4500 rpms and is eating new GTRs and ZR1 Z06's in the straights quite easily! The turbo is crazy responsive when bringing boost on and off while cornering.

From a track stand point where guys say they dont like big turbos this thing is absolutely amazing. i have been on the dyno but the software was glitching out, but i will be hitting another dyno and ill post up numbers when i do. but i can say i used to make 468 hp on my old turbo at about the same boost and this one feels stronger so it will make numbers!

INFORMATION OVERLOAD!

I was originally gonna go with the 6265, but you guys running the 6765 are putting down amazing number! And for the minimal price increaseI don't see why I wouldn't get the 67. Goal is 450@15psi on a BDC HBP with room to grow, no more than 550. I'll be ordering the turbo in the next three weeks as soon as I make a decision. I'm really hoping to see some numbers from the 6265 guys as well.

So with your mod's as you listed, at what RPM were you seeing 18 lbs of boost?

KKM, you and me have almost identical goals man, I am still doing lots of research to see if the 6265 will meet them.

Mine felt great up to 30psi! Unfortunately that was because my wastegate line blew off and I cracked my rear iron Getting the motor back together and gonna take her out again soon. Pretty sure the log showed 20 psi by 5500 RPM or so, T4 .96 un-divided, journal bearing.

Not this time, but I got a great price on a brand spanking new S4 rear iron with the FD-sized upper dowel land. Thank you Red-Tail Racing!

Next motor is going to be a bit more serious though.

Sorry to hear about the cracked iron.

My 500R is seeing 20 psi before 4000 rpm, I'll have to check it next time I drive the car to get a more precise number.
