Kevin, you are welcome anytime you can make it. We drive in to the Char Grill on Strickland Road, just west of the Strickland Road intersection. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month at 5:30 pm until daylight savings time comes back then we might move the drive-ins to 6:30 pm.

Let's see a wife and 3 kids, coordinating your time, we'll see you in 15 years. I have 3 children and a wife and I didn't get to do what I wanted to do until the kids were thru college, earning their own living. Now I got an FC to play with and some nice playmates. We have fun together. Come out and play with us when you can.

Bert

Good one Bert, but I won't let the military get to me "that" much. My recruiter is comming over this friday....He is talking about I might be gone by the end of January! If so....this saturday will prolly be my last meet for a long while. I'll deff. be making it out. Oh, and Bert......are we all still on for earlier this saturday?

Well, after determining the amount of damage that had been done to my Turbo II engine, I called Rotorsports and asked them If they would take a look at it and port it. Well they gave me one better they offered me this Stage 2 Turbo II motor, with new rotor housings, new rotors, upgraded stationary gears and bearings, upgraded apex seals, upgraded corner seals, new oil pump, Racing beat light weight main pulley, everything cryo treated, streetported and enlarged oil passage ways, and more, for two thousand. Since this was everything I had planned on doing to my engine plus everything on it's new, and to rebuild it would have cost much more, I went ahead and got it, it's beautiful. This cut my rebuild time by a good 50-75%. Had to drive it back last night, because they put an FD rotor in the rear rotorhousing. We had to replace the oil catch tube, because there builder asked me to remove the oil pan so it wouldn't stick, after he called me and told me of the mess up. So when I brought it back the tube was still under the engine, I told him that but I guess he didn't hear me beacuase he set it right down on top of it. But I got a free set of there racing wires for having to drive back out and having to wait.

HA! HA! The days of free food and clothes over? What's your recruiter been telling you? Your days of free stuff is just beginning, Free Food, Free Clothes, they give you free transportation to your basic training base, always located in one of the most scenic parts of the country, you'll get free use of a luxurious room 7X24. Heck, they'll even let you use a state of the art fully automatic rifle and all the free amunition you can pump out. And above all else the US Army will give you spending money to use when you runout of stuff to do on base. And after they train you to do a very important jog, again at no personal expense to you, now get this, they will be glad to send you on an all expense paid excursion to far of parts of the world where you'll encounter exotic people and strange new customs.

Hey man, your days of free stuff are just beginning.

Horse, that is a great deal from RotorSports. When are we gonna get to see this new FC on the road? Just curious, how long is it gonna take for them to replace the rear rotor or did they do it while you waited on the car? They put an FD rotor in a new FC housing? Got any new pics of this monster and this engine assembly?

Saturday will be Scott's last meeting, too. He's leaving for the Navy boot camp stuff on the 31st. We all should try to make this meet, so he will remember what he's going to the Navy for....................... to afford to get an FD.

See y'all once the snow settles down. Hehe... my speed bump is in the driveway half covered with snow. I need a garage.

By the way, y'all read up on the Tail of the Dragon thread... I need to know what our group is doing.

I don't know what everyone has done for lodging arrangements. I know that Bert said something about taking his wife(which is okay as long as her acura stays at home )

Johny and I were looking for a 3rd for a cabin, but no1 has come on board with us. Johny, maybe we can do a two room cabin instead or maybe all just stay at the inn. We can talk about it more this weekend. I don't know if you read the T.O.D thread, but lodging at the inn is 25% off the LOW SEASON rate and 15% off the low season rate for cabins.

We will be caravaning up there early Friday afternoon.

Anyhow that is the basic outline. We will probably hammer out more of the details this weekend.

Look forward to seeing you and Scott there. Hopefully, some of the guys with running FDs will be there with their rides. That is if the weather holds off for us.

I waited on them so I was there for two hours just me and Brian. Well I am still waiting on my new parts to come in, so once they come in I will put it all on the engine drop her in and should be good to go. I expect about two weeks till she is on the road and another two till she has been completely and properly tuned and the bugs worked out. For now I am car less, no engine in the FC and the RX-8 is down because a razor blade fell into the radiator, that's right a razor blade...! I'm not quite sure how it got there but the dealership called me yesterday and told me, but hopefully it will be fixed by tonight, they said it might. They took it to some guy who said he could repair it, but unfortunitly becuase of the circumstances, Nitrous, they voided my waranty. So it is all comng out of my pocket. I've got SATs in the morning on Saturday, but I will still be there Staurday night as long as I am not brain fried.

How is the planning and coordination going for the Deals Gap adventure in April? Are you interested in the drive east to meet up with the down east rotary owners?

What are the chances that a razor blade would be thrown into your rad at just the right angle to damage it. Good luck on the SATs and we'll see you Saturday if the weather permits.

Deals Gap is up in the air right now(no pun intended). How about joining me on Fathers Day weekend at VIR for the expanded course with the Mazda Driving Group. 4.2 miles of fun. They arent taking reservations yet but I plan to be on the first of the list.
I am interested in the down east hookup.
My alphabet was during my air force years 54-58.

I went today and visited my girl "TIFFANY" my painter has started on her, The ceramic coating on the UIM and rest of the parts will look awesome. We experimented on the UIM first. He also took out the dent in the front fender, No filler.

I really don't think Ill come down this weekend, the horror stories of being stuck in traffic for hours scares me, thats why I left Va beach.

Ill keep you posted.

I ran with that group last year. More track time than with NASA because they dont combine racing with the HPDE.

Hey Horse, If it flew up from the road and hit the radiator, it should be covered if you have comprehensive insurance.

If you need a 3rd person, can it be 3rd and 4th? my friend and I are girls, so we really dont want to team up with people we dont know from the forum... that's just not cool. People from the area (I.e, Raleigh rotary members) would be preferable. If this will work, I will be eternally grateful. And don't worry, she and I won't throw off your groove! *grins and watches Bert laugh hysterically at that one* Just picking... we can BE your "groove" if necessary. LOL ...But my friend's 16 (17 when T.O.T.D. rolls around)... haha

So yeah... thinking about painting my car with chalkboard paint until I get $$ to paint her a sexy job... obviously it would be black paint, but just wondering what ppl thought of this? We could all sign it with chalk at our meetings and stuff! It would be cool.
