My engine is running again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No its not in my car, but Kevin said he ran it for 3 hrs on his skid. I just finished cleaning my engine bay out and It should go to the painters this week. Should I keep the side mouldings Black or paint them white like the rest of the car? Tell me what you think.

Happy Holidays
Johny

edit : None of the seals were blown just worn.

Great to hear it Johny. When do you think you will have it in?

Taylor, when had you planned on doing your flywheel swap? Also, where did you get your datalogit? Straight from the site or did you buy it used? I guess I need one in order to run 1600cc injectors with my PFC and I heard the wait was pretty long. I'd planned on getting one eventually, but I guess I might as well order it before I go to get it tuned.

Johnny,

I vote for painting them the same color as the rest of the body.

Hey, I'm planning on doing the swap, as long as the parts come in on time over the christmas break sometime. Maybe January at the latest.... but I'm in no real big hurry.
If you want, you can just borrow my dataloggit for the tuning or what not... I bought mine from rx7.com over the summer and got really lucky, I waited 2 weeks before they shipped it out.

Looks like you got a nice little project going on there Johny. Good luck with it. You going to keep the car white or are you gonna go with some thing else?

let me know when you wanna do it. weekends are best for me to help out, but if you are thinking of doing during the week, we can arrange a meet so you can grab the tools from me.

thanks for offering your datalogit. i will probably take you up on that since the damn things are on backorder right now and i was hoping to have the car back together and tuned.

i was talking to some guys yesterday and said there is a place in Greensboro that does good turbo tuning too. Not an all rotary shop like Rotorports, he is more into Grand Nationals and the sort, but will work on any turbo vehicle. I dunno maybe another option since we'd talked about rolling to get our cars tuned.

I'll let you know whats up once I get the parts. Did the guy you talk to about the above company seem to have the confidence in them to do a rotary? I'd hate to have them tune our cars and blow one engine or the other trying to get it right. Heck, maybe I'll sacrifice my engine (cuz I know you don't wanna put in another) so I can get a new one.

You are probably speaking of bruce turrintine. He is the guy that you see in the atkins rotary rebuild video's. He lives in north Raleigh. I bought a car from him last year. He is a super nice guy and is one of the top engine builders around. I dont think he is building many engines for cars anymore. He is more in to the aviation end or rotarys. He works out of his own garage, but is very well know and reputible. I have called him several times in the past asking him questions about an engine i was building at the time. He always took the time to answer my questions. Like i said, a sooper nice guy.
