Sorry I messed the meet tonight

I was putting the straight pipe back on the car (successful inspection, YAY!) but I was just too damn tired to really go anywhere when I was done. I'm not sure why, it's not like exhaust work is particularly difficult, maybe it was the rain.

The RRDI pics for the most recent Drive-In, 4/22

Catch the pics of our Drive-In this past Saturday. It was a blast and wish I could've stayed longer. Enjoyed being everyone after their Deals Gap trip and hearing all the good stuff and the part swap. Maybe we should do that more often. Here's how its done, go to the www.rrdi.org website and post up any parts you need and/or any parts you have to trade of give away. Then others that have or need your parts will be prepared to trade, buy, negotiate, or simply receive the parts available.

Here is the url:

does anyone know where i can find an NA FC to buy? I would prefer one thats 5 lug and has the good brakes. I dont want to spend a whole lot but i do need it to have a descent motor. Either a low milage car or just a low milage motor.

I'm pretty sure all 5 lugs have the 4 piston calipers in the front... "The good brakes."

If I know of anyone who has an N/A FC for sale, I'll let ya know.

I was looking for an FC earlier and there's not a damn thing around here right now, just a few overpriced verts and one FC that runs decently but probably needs a rebuild (I can give you that guy's email if you like). I decided just to build up my FB, I hope you have better luck than me.

Hey Jesse, there was a guy in the RRDI that was selling an FC a few months ago. It was painted kinda wierd tho, I think it was called forest green camo. Don't know if you'd go for something like that, but if you're interested I'll try to find the contact info for you.

No never saw it, just heard you talking about it when you were trying to convince yourself to sell it. At least you know the history on it.

Summer Rotary Festival June 24th

Just got an idea for our summer cookout. Last year it was Eric's homecoming from Kuwait. This year why don't we hold the first Summer Rotary Festival of NC? The first day of summer is June 21st and the second Saturday that month is on June 24th. We could do a cookout at Falls Lake or Jorday Lake and invite our Charlotte friends up along with everyone that has attended the Drive-Ins. (Maybe do it on Sunday instead of Saturday if that works better for everyone) Make a real concerted effort to get everyone out and have as close to 100% participation as possible. We can have a few people lead some drives, have some swimming, horse shoes, maybe have some local sponsors from autoparts stores and the area Mazda dealers donate a few door prizes.

What do y'all think? Everyone willing to get involved and promote it in their area? What would really be cool would be a Mazda day at VIR but that is way too expensive without a major sponsor and mega bucks.

This is what happens when I stay up way past my bed time.

Bert,
Mazda drivers are at VIR on June 17 & 18 TH and it won't cost anything to get in, as long as we talk to dave first.

just putting this out there

The MSCCNC will be doing a couple of RBQs up at VIR this year also, same deal as last year but WARMER weather! I wouldn't mind taking some Sunday morning rides up there to watch some races again this year. Get enough people maybe we could talk them into letting us do our own parade laps like I saw some groups do last year.

Remember the new military policy in that area, Don't ask and Don't tell!

Hey Eric, if we decide to proceed with the NC RotaryFest I'd be countin' on you and Jason and Nic to spread word at the military bases and in the community about the event and draw as many people as possible from eastern NC. If we do this and can get flyers and cards made up would you be willing to get them out to all the car parts stores, Mazda dealers, etc and get announcements done on post for the event? Any ideas about what would attract people you have would be appreciated.
