so guys... what's the deal with the Mazda meet tonight? Not the rx7 meet... just the Mazda meet some of you guys where talking about a few pages back.

 

Taylor, I think that Mazda meet was cancelled, due to lack of interest, but i am not sure.

I added another RX to the stable! Thats right, Now I have 4, Ill probably pick it up next week Its a 86 base The previous owner took most of the engine apart the short block is still in the car and the rest of the engine in in the hatch. I first was thinking about using it for parts but something about killing a RX bothers me. Maybe Ill gut the car and rebuild it for a track car? So many RX's so littlte money. She doesn't have a name yet Ill only name her if she doesn't get sacrificed.

Johny, way to go. It a great feeling when you look out and see a yard full for sevens. Its also fun to wake up in the morning and ask yourself wich one you want to drive today. So what all do you have now?

That site wasn't offering anything we didn't already have going on, merely a place for people with like interests to post information and arrange meetings. There were only 3 people from the triangle area that had signed up on it and they are already into our drive-ins so it wasn't offering anything for us.

We'll al be holding our own meetup this coming Saturday anyway.

 

I think your a little confused. The blue first gen that he had pictures of wasn't mine, it belongs to MCnairs performance, which is also the place where he bought the TII. I'm just rebuilding the motor for him. I wish that thing was mine, its pretty sweet.

BRENDA-SUE:1990 Black gxl fresh rebuild about 4000 miles It runs well except its an auto or more appropriately slush box Its got a little hail damage, but its a smooth ride
ANN-MARIE 1988 A.E. needs a rebuild and a lot of cosmetic stuff but its basicly un molested.
JANE DOE 1986 gunmetal red int I might part it out, If I do she wont get a name needs a rebuild.
so all I need is a 91 vert to complete my collection.
My wife isn't jealous of any of these ladies she is very supportive. She even thinks I should get a 3rd gen. But then I couldn't drive in the rain! HA, actually Im wating for a 4th gen to come out. She normally drives our 4runner. If Bert can show up in a HONDA I know its ok for me to drive a toyota.
Are you going to do a rebuild for some one? If it works out I might be talking to you about more work.

OK, that's enough, I let it slide last week, not gonna make a big deal out of it. It wasn't an official meeting anyway. Since the meeting was cancelled my wife and I went out to eat and do some other stuff. We'd stopped by Borders in the shopping center and I decided I'd go down to the Char Grill to see how the parking lot looked on a Saturday night without any 7s parked there to dress it up. Now this was about 9:00-9:30 pm. Well, I found a buch of rotary fanatics standing out in the parking lot with 5 - 6 7s parked.

I was in my wife's Acura TLS. We'd decided to leave the GTU in the garage since it was supposed to be raining off and on all night. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Can't wait for this weekend, I am hoping everyone that can possibly make it will show up and we have a few new drivers.

Yeah, that's why I thougt I'd let it go by, I tried to talk her into a nice FD but she wanted something reliable, quiet, and with good cup holders. I don't know what she was thinking. She could've had a very nice FD, a TII, an FC vert and possibly an FB of some sort. I might could've built a nice garage to house our collection but no we're now buying the TLS. Its a pretty nice car, good power and holds the road great, and it'll do when I'm not driving the 7.

You and the Durham crowd gonna be there Saturday? Dave gonna show us what he's got?

Johny, I was thinking of building my own rear deck cover and you were gonna bring down a cover for me to use as a template.

Don't bother, I've decided that since my car didn't have the right speaker covers that mine didn't come from the factory with the rear deck lid. Therefore I really don't need to worry about adding something that was not there from the factory. Just need to find me a good set of speaker covers and upgrade the rear speakers.

 

Great, you do know that the group gets a 15% fee for any business conducted during our drive-ins? Just put the check in the mail.

Which lady will you be bringing to the meet this week, Tiffany or Brenda Sue? It must be hell having to choose which 7 to drive from week to week, I'm glad I don't have that problem. Don't you feel like you're cheating on the other one when you're not driving her?

 

I met poor_red_neck today off of Hillsborough St. He was workin on an old Supra at the car shop. It was kinda funny since his hands were so dirty that we had to bump elbows instead of shaking. Seemed like a cool kid. He posted in here a while back with the Blue '89 GTU.

Yeah, I work at campus auto on hillsborough (used to be german auto)... and will be getting my NC state inspection cert. soon... so.. yeah

Where's the next meet guys? I will TRY my best to get out there in the GTU... probably be with an inspection sticker outdated in 01, and a liscense plate off a minivan... but I'm going to try dammit.
