OK, who knows where to get the registration form for the June driving school at VIR? I have been to www.thscc.com and can't find it. Perhaps, it has not been posted yet, I just want to make sure I reserve my spot on the track.

Sorry, I couldn't make the meet last night, I got caught up in the garage, it was 7pm before I looked at the clock. How was it?

Maybe I was thinking about a different run. I just noticed you were looking at TSCC. I was talking about the Mazda group. Link here.

Good to see everyone again, I can't believe that TTOTD is so close. I'm getting really worried, I might have to take LUMPY aka Brenda sue.

Josh I hope your getting closer than I am I should have stayed home and worked on my car too. I think I'm going to go Bribe/ or KILL my painter this week. I wont have much time for installation and break in. Where are we staying again.?

This is a public service announcement by Joey:

Please check your belts to make sure they aren't about to snap. Don't be like me!

:end announcement:

I snapped a power steering belt today. Guess that's a good indication that I should replace them all, huh?

I bought my '93 from Clean and Fast and it has been an absolute nightmare for a year and a half. Now the electrical system is on the fritz, the turbos don't work right, and the engine dies when idling repeatedly (in traffic, etc.). I'm getting the feeling that Rotosports is the place to go?

Yep, Rotorpsorts did my '91 turbo and it's still kicking strong. C&F worked on my '85 gsl and it didn't last and I didn't like some of what was done. Jerry seems to know his stuff but it seems he gets mixed reviews on his work. On the other hand, Rotorsports Racing absolutely knows thier stuff. I've never heard a bad word about them. Bit of a drive but well worth it. If it was something that I or one of the local guys at the meet couldn't handle then I'd take it to them without hesitation.

Oh yeah... good to see everyone again last night! Capn got a fender, I got a burger, noone would take the free ticket from Bobby... (we tried to give it away!). Got to see a sweet '90 'vert, got my fix for another 2 weeks on some FCs and an '85 GSL-SE. Was fun as usual, just need more peeps to start showing up!!!

On another note, if any of you guys are thinking about Deals Gap get your *** in gear and sign up before its too late. If you can't make it then help Johny and Josh fix thiers!!!!

Hey y'all...

David is coming with me as my sidekick to Tail of the Dragon. He's actually sucking up his pride in his new car, and RIDING with me... but I might let him drive.
If something comes up with his job, though, I'll let y'all know. Thanks for helping out with me still being able to get to come, if I don't find a "partner in crime." Like I said, if there is a change, I'll keep you posted.

yea johny i am in a panic. as i get down to the nitty gritty i am realizing there are a lot of knicknacks that i need to take care of to get the car back on the road.

you guys will probably laugh when you see the car. some parts will be powdercoated and some won't. i can't spend anymore time on that right now. i gotta get it back together. then i can pull pieces back off and coat them.

the engine should be back in early next weekend, then i gotta do the; battery relocation, vacuum lines, get the fuel pump in, get the wideband installed(not critical), get the turbo plumbed in, and various other things i can't think of off top.

I am planning on taking another 2-3 days off work, and working a long weekend on it.

oh, and we are staying at Fontana Village in a "Magnolia" cabin.

Finally got pics posted for the Drive-In. Check out the February Drive-In thread to see what happened Saturday.

Like Greg said all going along on the TOTD drive should make lodging arrangements and order their T-SHirts to be able to access all the happenings. Remember, if you're bringing anyone along they should get a shirt.

On the Deals Gap trip we need to be sure we have the cell phone numbers of all going up on our caravan. I want to be sure that anyone can call me or anybody else incase of a problem on the way and to make sure we all leave together and arrive together. PM me with your contact information and I'll put a list together and hand one out to each car. Also want to be sure each car has driving directions and has done the maintenance checklist and prepared their cars for the trip. Be at the next two drive-ins to insure we are all on the same page about how, what, where, when, and why.

Josh, did you ever figure out how hard it is to powdercoat the UIM, TB, and such w/o it getting into the runners and other areas?

here is your answer to that question, Taylor. I need a little more practice before I get consistent results. I had to powder some pieces 3-4 times. I think I need better line filters and some sort of booth to keep the contamiants off. The pictures don't do the colors justice.

That thing is too good looking to put it in the engine bay and hide it under the hood.

WOW Josh, that's a mighty purty ingine ya got thar. I don't know much 'bout FDs but in the 2nd gen's the engine in usually found under the hood. I guess that's why you guys have so much trouble keeping yor cars runnin'. I know the engines are much easier to work on sittin' out like that.

The way you have to baby those cars I figured that when you were talking about powder coating parts you were referring to talcum or corn starch powder. We'll have to have some type of special meet when you get it all back together and she is actually roadworthy. Thanks for the pictures, nice looking engine
