You and Ray both need your cars painted. Y'all might work out a package deal with Jeff Brown if you can both agree on the same color. There is a guy, Batguano on the forum that has a white 90 or 91 FC and repainted his Lexus Pearl White, turns out to be a beautiful color. It is very close to the OEM white so that the door edges and engine bay and other places are noticeably different. But since you have a 10AE you might want to stick with the OEM color. He can also do the body work you need on the front fender. Ray has talked to him recently.

And by the way I happen to have a white passenger side fender if that is all you need to fix your car.

Congradulations on passing emissions. "Eclipse" that's the new diagnostic machine they're using for the sniffer testing. I've heard that's a more accurate computer and it has faster processors. It feels good to be legal doesn't it. I've heard the sniffer test goes away in 2006 for all cars without on board diagnostics, OBD, computers. So, like we discussed at the Drive-in, this could be the last year that rotorheads have to worry about emissions. At least that is the rumor circulating amongst the licensed inspectors.

Barry, what is the paint code on your 10th AE? Mine is WY... I believe the paint code is on the firewall somewhere. Maybe we could get a discount if he does both cars and they use the same paint.

What a coincidence...I JUST (as in...5 min ago) replaced a gasket that had failed after 6 months.

Just go to either Mazdatrix or RB's site and order a new one. The failed one that I had on there I had picked up at Advance Auto, and as you can probably tell it was a cheap POS. Just spend the $10 to order a good one and all will be well with the world.

I'm going to post a pic of the old one in the second gen section later just for kicks...half the gasket was just GONE.

I'm very interested in seeing arghx's car when it's done and he sprays. Never seen a 7 with Nitrous on it, I'd like to see how it goes.

I meant to say that the colors are NOT noticeably different.

Bert, and i would appreciate a fender maybe we could work out a deal, although the frame is pushed in too so im gonna have to find a shop that may be willing to pull the frame.

Yeah, get your frame work done. I can bring the fender to you at the next drive-in or we can meet somewhere if you need it sooner.

I don't know if any of you guys saw the videos in the Tail of the Dragon Sticky at the top of the SE section page but there are some pretty cool videos. Only one that i could load fully was this one.

BTW - I've been thinking more and more about going on this trip. What do I need to do/pay in order to go?

It's free... you just need to contact herblenny to get a t-shirt, which I think covers some meals but I dont know what else... plus you gotta set up a place you wanna stay. Me and my friend Amanda are staying with Josh and Johny in a cabin. (of course she and I have our OWN rooms, tho. lol)

Most people are staying in a town called Fontana Village. I'd make reservations asap before other ppl get em.

Super excited you're coming... I may have to teach Amanda how to drive a manual before we go, so she can drive my car part of the time so I might get a chance to ride in some of y'alls sexy FD's! Mwhahahaha.

Sounds like you guys had a good meet. This is what I did this weekend, I think I have an obsession with buffing.
Josh I hope your car will be ready for T.O.T.D., if it is can I ride and can I bring all of my polished parts. J/K My car better be ready, I visited her today still no paint but a little progress on the body.

Johny

You'll need $1500 just to get a new paint job on your current one. Trust me, I should know.

Johny, just bring her down to the Char Grill and we'll all bring whatever paint we can find in out garages, spray paint is preferable but if now bring your own brush, and give her a good coat of paints. It'd be called OverHaulin' on the cheap. You'd have one unique look! We could do it in an afternoon.

How are you going to finish the tranny housing? I agree with Taylor, powder coat it RED.

If you can get some of the rotary owners interested in the Triad then y'all could join the caravan as we go thru Greensboro or meet us out on the W/S bypass. The larger the group the more fun the drive out there.

Johny, I took a couple of vacation days and turned this into a 4 day weekend so I could work on the car. I hope the engine ready and dropped in by Monday. I am selling my current turbo and then ordering another. So that may delay me, however, i am not going with the very hard to get a hold of GT turbos, but a watercooled SP63.

I need to touch base with Rotorsports again. See if we can get all the FDs tuned before TOTD.

Taylor, you should try and make it. The even should be a blast. Like Christina said you have to get a room. If all else fails, we may have a couch you can crash on (thats if it is cool with Amanda, Christina, & Johny)

Josh, My car is very close to being completed. Pretty much all that is left is the wiring and several little odds and ends. You can check out the latest pics on the website that is listed in my sig. Good luck with getting yours back on the road soon.
