Nonsense & it's why the Founding Fathers put the Peoples' right to bear arms in the Second Amendment...it was THAT important and they did not mince words, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". Non negotiable. Period. If you or others want to change the Law, then there is a process for that via the Legislature (Congress) to enact such change via a 2/3rd majority in both Houses, or a 75% concurrence of all 50 States' Legislatures. The Constitution gave the federal government almost total legal authority over the army and militia. Second, that the federal government should not have any authority at all to disarm the citizenry. A better solution is to mandate a minimum of X yrs in a Federal Penitentiary (I say 15 yrs) when using any gun in the commission of a crime. This approach ensures 1) the criminals are excised from Society for a significant time (maybe they can get some rehab lessons in during their stint), and 2) acts as a massive deterrent to such criminals.

I agree, guns do not kill people , people kill people

but its not the sane people that commit these mass shootings, its crazy people.

and they are doing it with guns.

and that is a problem. No one can say that having so many mass shootings is not a problem.

so, the problem is that crazy people kill people with guns.

and since with have laws that separate drunk people from their cars

we should have laws that separate crazy people from their guns.

but since we need to protect the 2nd amendment we need to be careful about who to separate from their guns

so what we need are common sense back ground checks ( and other common sense laws ) that prevent crazy people from getting guns

if we don't act responsibly we will eventually lose the 2nd amendment.

now, can anyone tell me why my trailing ignition if firing 90 degrees out of phase?

I'm running an MSD box for my leading ignition, and stock set up for my trailing.

no matter how I stab the dizzy the trailing is of by 90 degrees, I can tell cause I can see the marks at the three oclock position, about 90 degrees after tdc.

I have verified my main pull position and checked the position of all the spark plug wires and I am stumped.

Well said Robert, we need to do something about the guns and the crazies.

On the ignition, I think the problem is with the MSD ignition.

MSD is an American product, it doesn't belong in an SA.

The Rotary Gods would not approve.

I think they are yanking your crank.

Wankeling your Wankel, so to speak.

I agree... MSD just keeps dropping the ball with their ignition boxes IMPO. If you are after hot spark try out Crane; same multiple fire, but more reliability. Not to mention you can get NASCAR take off units for $150 shipped.

How many of the wires did you cut to setup your box? Did you set it up as a 4cyl or a 6? That might account for the delay in fire.

Ray, I think that's Comp cams website...

Crane HI-6RL Ignition Box NASCAR, Drag Race | eBay

This is what you guys should be after. NASCAR take offs. They run them one time and toss em. Crane doesn't have the terrible rep that MSD has acquired. I just wish I'd gone this route before buying my MSD al-6.

But you'd better get it now before the EPA shuts down racing for good.

I found my problem and it was with the MSD ignition, not a system failure, but user error.
I had rewired my engine compartment, including all my ignition circuits and turns out the MSD trigger circuit has a polarity.
I had the purple and greens wires reversed causing it to go wacky, found it last night.
good info about the other systems though, if this one bites the dust I will go that way.

I also installed new fans, new fan shroud, new fan controller, new alternator, new charging system wiring and finally got rid of the remnants
of all the ballast resistor wiring that was still lingering in my wiring loom. Lots of work, but it all works a lot better.
For the first time ever I can turn everything on and even at idle the systems holds a solid 14.2 volts. Never had that before.

Ill take some tonight.

What happened to the widebody got me thinking about my sub-standard wiring and how bad it would be to not heed that warning.

so I went through and revised all the crappy wiring I had stacked on top of other crappy wiring to help avoid a tragedy.

it looks nicer as well.

Yeah, I got fear of wiring fires too... Few years ago I had a car fire (100% stock). It was just a random grounding in the alternator, but the designers of the car saw fit not to put a main fuse between the battery and the alternator. So up in smoke it went. Now everything gets fuse blocks, and every car has a 10mm spanner near the battery terminals just in case. Also, all my cars have fire extinguishers.

Stay safe out there friends - nothing says "unfused link" like a full on wrench rattling across the terminals.

I was concerned about that as well, especially since my battery is in the back, which creates additional opportunities for shorts, (with very large wire), so I wired in a resettable breaker between the alternator and the battery. also used one to replace the main fusible link that protected all the harness. I used an additional fuse panel under the hood to replace the other 2 fusible links for the headlights and headlight retractors. Took me forever because I am not electrically inclined, so there was a lot of head scratching and some cursing. Don't want to have to do it again.

hehe... my battery is in my frunk; so the 10 mm wrench is in with the spare tire and tool kit.

On the 7 I have a ton of random tools I might need in the convenient little storage bins behind the seat.

Robert good to hear you got that fixed. After your call it kept me up at night thinking about it. I kind of think I mentioned something about connections being backwards but didn't suspect the MSD.

I think I need to do the same, I got a bunch of wires running around for ignition and fan stuff that I need to cleanup. You inspired me. Now post those pics!

Looks like a Wankel powered lap top.

How's the rest of the car coming? Bodywork and paint all back to pristine condition?

We hope to see it soon!
