I hate it when they censor our posts. Kind of defeats the purpose of an open public forum, doesn't it?

The time and the place for the next OG@TA meeting is next Tuesday, July 8th at Jeffery's in Suwanee, 6:30 for the early birds, 7:00 for people with a life and 8:00 for the really cool people. Here's a mapquest link for Jeffery's:

http://www.mapquest.com/mq/9-OucYVM7CKL_Ir_YH

Usually 6-12 or more rotor heads show up, a lot of new folks have expressed interest in this next one so it should be pretty good, some new faces and 7's. Billy is bringing lots of custom fabricated parts for us and Tim is trying to sell his FD, I think he offers a 20% discount to OG@TA members.

I don't think I'll be able to make this Tuesday. 1st week of the playoffs. And the FD is a bit under the weather at the moment. Stupid fuel pulsation damper. I thought they fixed those in '95. Having dangerous thoughts about selling that car anyway. I do have a 2 car garage......

Sorry Ray I should have realized you would catch the fact that I was confusing a Eukaryotic cell with the Bacterial and prokaryotic cell structures.

Another question then: Would it then be possible Ray for us to convert our 12A's to run off of proton motive force instead of dino fluid? Do they need to be clearenced for 17k rpm operation without their filiment?

A serious ? now.. Is proton motive force an electrical charge? Created by the transfer accross the membrane?Good stuff Ray I have never been inspired to learn from someone's sig before FTMods I would double the size just to **** them off.

Proton motive force (PMF) results from a concentration gradient of protons across a biological membrane, for example the bacterial cell membraned (as in the flagellum example) or, in eukaryotes, the inner mitochondrial membrane, where the PMF is responsible for energy transduction (ATP production, for you biologists).

Because protons are positively charged, the PMF has both a chemical component (from the protons) and an electrical component (from the positive charges on the protons). It is therefore also called an electrochemical force.

The PMF spins the turbine in the bacterial flagellum complex, much like water in a hydroelectric plant spins the turbines that power the generators. So strictly speaking the bacterial flagellum is a different kind of rotary motor than our 12As.

I'd change the size of the sig gif but I don't know how. Still I managed to escape the Signature Police for the time being.

Download one of the gif animators from this link:

http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.ht...20gif&tag=srch

Those will allow you to open the current file and see each frame. You can then re-size each frame and re-build the movie with the new smaller frames.

Also, the heat shields will not be ready. We have the new version for stock intakes drawn but waiting on the laser cut blanks to show up.

The heat shields we had done first seen to hit slightly.

Thanks Billy! Sorry for all the troubles with the stock problems, I realize most people would just replace the manifold to make life simple.

Don't miss "As the Wrench Turns" on PBS this Wednesday at 8:00 pm:

"The animated adventures of Click and Clack Tappet, the alter egos of "Car Talk" brothers Tom and Ray Magliozzi, begin when they run for president in order to save their radio network."

Dave that looks like some nasty traffic. Quite a drive for a wide body. It will be good to see it's debut.

Dave you picked a fine day to be out on the road. That stuff you brought back looks like aircraft parts, how are you going to keep all four wheels on the road when you get those wings on there?

Yeah ray, I thought about that being the end of the 4th weekend. But hey, had to do it. And the traffic only lasted about 45 minutes or so. And I always wanted to be a pilot so maybe this is what I need.

As for the planes. You normally will not see them. As they just cruise at about 4k feet or so above us and watch us cross over markers on the road and time us However the cloud cieling was very low due to overcast skies, so no worries of the planes. Just 1001 state troopers..Geesh I never seen so many. every other mile had someone busted

Glad to see the flagellum is gone from your posts Ray. This thread was starting to turn into biology class.

Yayo, sorry to see what happened to your car. But, a couple of pitchers at Jeffery's fixes most issues for me.

Billy, don't sweat the heat shields. I can wait. Bring the radiator pillar, if you have it. I will have the money for you. Do you have any of the intake duct material left, you would be willing to sell?

See you guys tomorrow night.

Both tickets that I've gotten in the last ten years (both in rental cars, none in the 7's) were July 4th gifts, I've learned to go slow on that particular weekend (or better, stay home).

Mike I was forced to stop posting my molecular rotary by the Forum Police. You know, the one that kind of looks like this?:

Apparently they've bought into Bush's Anti-Science Anti-Intellectual agenda.

Mike I'm dropping by Home Depot on the way home tonight, do you want me to pick up some dryer duct for you?

I got an email from Greg, is 2nd gen coil is mounted and he needs us to wire it up so hopefully we'll have better luck on this one than that oil sender unit.

Should be good tomorrow!

(And if you don't hear from me, it's OK, I probably just got banned again).

Ray, the guy without a sig.

Yeah, it isn't too recognizable. I guess it does match the Altima's color.

I don't want the dryer duct stuff. Billy has some really cool stuff from McMaster Carr. It's black and is some kind of treated fabric, as I recall.

See you tomorrow.

Better an Altima than a Fix. I kind of like those rinky dink Fix cars. Suppose we could get a 12A in one? Like maybe yours Kevin?

Check this out, can you believe the seats:

Mike, as long as that duct looks cool, I won't be pestering you. But I'll probably be pestering you.

Packing the car for tomorrow, wait till you see the piece of stained glass I just picked up.

Whoops I forgot I'm not supposed to do that.
